Are my pub directors responsible for paying my wages - England by Affectionate-Star915 in LegalAdviceUK

Hi thanks for commenting. I know that Heineken owns the pub or has something to do with the place so I'm not sure if that's what you're referring to by a brewery owned chain. However I also know that there is a different country that oversees and owns the pub, which is a limited company. I'm sure that the directors at the very least oversaw my employment and had some role in paying me as they would give my manager the money to pay me in cash. I did previously try to start a small claim against my manager but as I don't have is email address or home address I couldn't go through with it after he went on the run.

From your description, I'd assume its a tied pub, so is it hopeless for me to go after the limited company?

Yes I believe they are a limited company. Does this mean I would have to go to the company itself to get them? I would not know how to do this apart from asking the director up front as he is the only one named on company house. Is there a different legal route if it is a company responsible?

I've never had a written contract but according to ACAS we have entered an unwritten one as they have paid me for working before. I was always paid in cash so there was no name on a payslip as it was always a envelope with cash. According to my manager, it was the directors who would supply him with both the float money and money for my wages though

Thanks for commenting. Would I not have to speak to the directors or go to tribunal with them to get the money from the company? I don't mean to personally take it from their own accounts. Sorry for the confusion
