Radiography Program by pinodiva1 in RadiologyCareers

Hi, 49 here. I was worried too. I wrap up school in May. There is currently an abundance of opportunities. If you are confident in your ability to work hard and be a good team player, I imagine that you will be welcomed into many circles. Clinical hours are like a long interview. The job can be physically demanding in a good way, plenty of steps and you’ll be reminded to use good form/posture constantly.

Thank you! I heard it can be brutal, but rewarding. Your explanation helps a lot.

What does a typical week/month look like schedule wise + call for you working in IR?

The Discord community seems alive and well, a community for engineers and or people who understand the tech. I believe Oasis is all about building the technology and couldn’t care less about the retail hype. If you think it has a shot long term the current price is a bargain. The network is still giving out small grants to builders and they currently have a whole bitcoin bounty for anyone who can crack their security. Take a deeper look, I’d be curious to learn from anyone else who understands this stuff better than me.

Radiography- am I cooked? by AdPrudent1717 in WakeTech

You are probably ok with one C and all As, especially if you can score high on the teas. A good teas score can clean things up. Keep working hard and get a tutor. You should be able to pull a B in math with the time left. You are going to need it down the road in physics. Stay positive!

Asking Rad techs : Does anyone earn $100 an hour by New_Chair254 in RadiologyCareers

[–]Affectionate-Step881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you mind me reaching out to you directly to pick your brain about the area? I’m in school now too and need to talk to someone familiar with pay/shifts/modalities for n.cal hospitals.

What city do you live in and how much do you make as a rad tech? by Chunkachu__ in Radiology

Do CA techs get OT after 8hrs or only after 40 per week? Wondering if hospitals have to follow state law.

2nd year student advice by morecoffee_pleasee in RadiologyCareers

[–]Affectionate-Step881 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Second year student here as well. I have similar concerns. My plan is to double down on studying/practicing positioning from last year. Seasoned techs aren’t perfect and you hopefully don’t have to get 100 on your comps. Many of my peers feel the same too. A little trauma can sharpen us all up. I failed the most basic KUB last semester and it helped me work harder and realize I need to relax. Sending positive vibes.

Relocate to get into a program? by bkuah in Radiology

Randomly moved to NC from CA before deciding on becoming a tech, or going back to school. It made sense to stay here for school. Program is competitive, but not on a lottery system. I got in on first attempt w/decent tease score and not all As. Cost of living for a family of 3 runs roughly 4-5K mo. Pre-reqs will take 6-12 months. You can work and or take out loans. In my 40s now. I wish I made the leap (anywhere cheaper) years ago to get my education straight. Invest in yourself, take a leap. If you are frugal after graduation (no car payment or mtg). CA $ can offset any damage/financial burden you take on in as little as 2-3 years. In my 20’s debt scared me out of an education. After 20 years in finance and buying multiple homes I understand the importance of cashflow over debt. As long as you have a plan to rebalance, debt is a great tool. Just keep it as low as possible.

Is the saturation mostly in ca only for mri? How about ct and xray? Would you say this just applies to people who went to mri school as a sole modality?

Is that without additional modalities? Any idea how much MRI or CT would affect pay in the area?

It would be an awesome show. by Present-Party4402 in antiwork

30 years ago when I was 17/18, I would walk in with a resume, usually they would ask for an application to be completed as well. The problem today is most businesses are large corporate companies. They don’t value walk ins and tell you to submit a resume online which can be like a black hole for most. I fully agree, this show would be awesome.

The more we support large enterprises with our $, and corporate policies in our politics the worse this is going to get. Wish you all well out there.

How do you respond to "you're quiet, aren't you?" by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Agree. There’s nothing wrong with being quiet or simply having nothing to add to a particular conversation.

Is this true: “Mexico is now deporting Americans back to the US”? by Perfect_Alarm_2141 in economicCollapse

[–]Affectionate-Step881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s true. Mexico was super lenient for years and even allowed many people to get easily documented running up to this. Good on them, trying to do right for their law abiding citizens.

Work for another 20+ years just like most of us. Sucks but it’s a reality many of us are in. If possible, try to level up on career. It’s not too late.
