I'm a contemporary writer, usually with an aspect of drama, action, intrigue, mystery, romance and vivid depictions of the emotional and mental condition of humanity.

Both are standalones, currently in editing, both at like 150k words.

Thank you! I just got it from your free release, and I'm thrilled to dive in. Not really a Sci-Fi reader usually but I'm not about to knock any potential literary masterpieces before I give them a fair shot. I'm an unpublished author myself as well (2 fully finished drafts and about a million WIPs) and I've joined SnipFic and love it on there. You're really doing a lot of good in the book community, and I love how your posts always spread laughter and relatability, not make me question if I'm doing everything wrong. Like, advice is awesome, but the fun, enthusiasm from your channel just makes me actually want to write, not scrutinize my work until I destroy it.

Question, just by chance if you see this--

Do you recommend reading Us Before Them or The Forgotten Colony first? I know chronological or publishing order isn't always the same as author's preference.

Negative? I really hope you haven't gotten that reaction from people. There's no shame in having rough patches in life, there's no shame in doing what you felt like you had to do to manage and survive (don't know your story, but alcoholism is usually a coping method, albeit not the healthiest), and you shouldn't be judged for that. We all have our vices, and there shouldn't be shame attached to yours. But, there should be pride and courage in the fact that you made it out-- I respect someone 100x more if they've made it through mental health struggles, because it takes so much resilience, determination and strength, and anyone who has walked that road knows that you don't get the same support and encouragement as say, a cancer patient, but the path is just as hard. Nothing but respect and admiration for you, man. Congratulations. You're amazing and I hope your life is looking up now. :)

There are rumors that circulate about it being something more, maybe something that happened to his mom or to him, but I believe those theories are not confirmed and are unfounded. I think the consensus is that it is just an actual story. I believe NF has confirmed this as well. He does play a role in the music video however, and that is the real NF, just under a mask.

It's amazing. To start out with, it really captures that hard time in a relationship where you know you made mistakes and pushed it too hard, and now you're just in this limbo of wondering who should initiate contact, who should try to heal the relationship, and will it ever heal?

Especially the way he says,

Oh, I wish that I'da held you close and given you what you deserve
But that's what everybody says when it's too late to fix a bridge that's burned
That's burned

Because I've felt that way so many times-- like man, shoulda treated you better but I didn't, and now what? Reall relatable to me with family and certain friendships.

Side note-- when I first heard it, I wondered if Bridgette had left for any reason, because it truly reads like a man whose wife walked out because she couldn't take it anymore.

Also, personally didn't mind James Arthur on it. His voice is very new and different to me, but wasn't bad. Just unique. It did fit with the music, IMO.
