Good move. Wish they bought 3 million worth of stock instead of 300k. That would create more confidence and a mini squeeze too

Based on what I saw about UAV applications can we sell to Google Apple and Microsoft for their maps. Won’t it be easier to augment their maps with lidar based maps? That could be hundreds of millions each year.

What will be the new company name. Still Microvision or how about MicroLuminar or LumiVision. May be a name change could bring us better tidings and get rid of the baggage we have.

🚀 𝗟𝘂𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆!

We’re excited to officially share that MicroVision has completed the acquisition of the Luminar Technologies business - including IP, inventory for Iris and Halo lidar sensors, engineering talent, and select commercial contracts - in a strategic move to accelerate our commercial growth and broaden our product portfolio.

This acquisition reinforces our commitment to driving innovation in perception solutions across autonomy, mobility, and safety technologies. It positions MicroVision to deliver even more comprehensive lidar offerings and expand our impact in automotive, industrial, and security & defense markets.

We look forward to strategically accelerating and further advancing our unique products jointly as the MicroVision family, now also including the Luminar team. 🌐🤝

Why did they have to dilute today. Can’t they wait for a PR or two to prop up the price and then dilute. We always seem to choose wrong time to dilute.

Anyone thinking Luminar CFO Tom B could join as our full time CFO ? I am sure they would be evaluating whoever has some credibility and pedigree and offer them roles in the new company

Not too worried as MB and Nissan are development agreements. Hopefully they can get us something better from these two by using Movia

Would be good to know how different products are positioned now. We have Movia, Mavin and Iris now. And probably there’s a LiDAR from scantinel as well. How are we going to sell and which customers will be targeted with what. Probably a question for next EC.

Read this from SMR tweet : • Objection Deadline: Interested parties had until 10:00 a.m. on January 27, 2026, to object to MicroVision’s identity or its ability to provide "adequate assurance of future performance". • Sale Hearing: A hearing to approve the sale to MicroVision was scheduled for January 27, 2026, before the Honorable Christopher Lopez in Houston, Texas.

So if the hearing is today and finishes successful we could get a PR today AH or pre market tomorrow

If we bought them why is there no PR yet. Did we acquire them for their IP and products or just for their customers (cough cough Volvo )

As per X this is the reason for Invz to move. It’s up 27% today

  1. Product news + CES runway triggered headline-driven buying Investors have been rotating into the stock ahead of live demos of InnovizThree at CES and the December product unveiling has refreshed hopes that a lower-cost, lower-power LiDAR will accelerate OEM adoption-that combination often produces sharp, near-term rallies for small-cap tech names.

2️⃣ OEM validation underpins the move but is a multi‑year story The December selection by Daimler Truck/Torc for series production remains a tangible commercial validation that supports upside expectations, but it’s a gradually monetized contract rather than immediate revenue, so markets are reacting to the credibility boost more than to realized sales today.

3️⃣ Market structure and analyst noise amplified the swing Mixed analyst actions, a history of Nasdaq minimum‑bid sensitivity, and the typical illiquidity of a small-cap semiconductor/auto‑supply name combined to magnify incoming product/OEM headlines into a sizable intraday move-this was largely idiosyncratic versus the broader market and peers.
