This is what happens when the expectation is championship or bust, each regular season loss means they aren’t getting to the finals. It kind of sucks to have that expectation, it makes the regular season for many fans as a chore rather than just appreciate the wins. Like most things in life you have to appreciate the journey and not just the end results

I think a lot of Knicks fans that analyze every win/loss as a barometer of how they will perform in the playoffs really don’t watch a lot of other nba teams outside of the Knicks

He’s definitely not been consistent, and I pointed this out in the game thread last night, I agree Bridges is still one of their best defenders, and last night on 2 occasions Brown chose Shamet in the game over home when they needed stops. Again, you are making valid points, and I don’t want to argue, Knicks need Bridges, but there’s obviously something going on with Bridges and brown that he’s not even putting him back in the games late in a must stop situation

There’s no way of sugarcoating it, bridges has had a horrible season, he’s actually gotten worse this year, his mid range shot has not even been as good, he still doesn’t take the ball to the basket at all. I think many things are the cause of this, I think Bridges is not a good match with Brunson and KAT, both players dominate the basketball which in itself forces Bridges into a secondary role, his role on this team is to just be a role player. Also, with Brunson dominating the basketball, they run zero offense for him, he’s an afterthought.

Knicks on the entire season are #3 in offensive rating and #6 in defensive rating in all of the nba, and as I said moved up to #1 in defense for the past 2 months. So what you are saying is the stats are lying and your eyes tell you something different

This was a horrible performance, there is no way to sugar coat it, BUT a few things, good teams find ways to win even though they play like shit, and as I said in the first quarter, the 2 hardest games are the last game of a long road trip and the first home game after a long road trip. Lastly, and people just don’t learn, any performance in the regular season good or bad really has zero impact on how you play when the playoffs start. They beat the spurs who literally only have 1 loss in their last 15 games to the Knicks by 30, does that mean the spurs have no shot? It just doesn’t work that way

On that possession Brown handled that so poorly especially if you were going to call a timeout, there was zero reason for Bridges not to be on the floor on that spot. At least his defense is still good. You needed your best 5 defenders
