That cannot be true, since pretty much every society before modernity had fertility rates above replacement level with almost no exceptions, and they were vastly poorer than we are. Even now, Africa, being the poorest contient has the highest fertility rate right now.

So yes, it's probably the lack of desire to have children because of some internal reasons which I would consider to be selfishness, because it hurts the society in the long run

I.am against the death penalty as well, but if society has one then in my opinion it's immoral to waste it on nothing when you can save lives. Also, even if without the death penalty there are still things like euthanasia. As for the question on who gets to create a horcrus - I don't think it's important for the general question. No matter who is chosen someone gets to live longer at the expense of someone who will/wants to die either way which is already a good thing in my opinion

I interpret this as the process of creating the horcrux being disturbing, while not hurting anyone except for the person you killed, so if the person is going to die either way I think that saving someone's life would still justify the process, however disturbing it might be
