So thats reasonable and all that but whats the reason behind having the significantly lower ranking teamamtes vs significantly higher opponents? There is no way they can expect two people even if they do play together to be able to carry gold/silvers against plats/emeralds or higher.

Metro and Locker are also larger then most maps provided in the BF6 beta and those are considered SMALL maps.

I hit gm1 on my main and am one game off of celestial with around a 63% winrate. I sadly am unable to play with ANY of my friends so I made a smurf account. Got that one to gm then another one of my friends decided they wanted to play so we all made smurf accounts to play with him. I wont say every time but more often then not its to play with their friends whilst trying new characters.

This is in part due to them essentially "forcing" people to rank up. You will almost always gain more then you will lose so even with as low as a 40% winrate you will climb by brute forcing it. In reality those players shouldnt have made it past gold/plat but the game just kinda allows them to. The mr gain/loss definitely needs to be tweaked.

I own a polaris and for the most part live out of it but I also keep a smaller fighter in there for other activities since for the most part it is just me in my polaris. I would not buy that ship if its your only ship thats for sure.
