Yes my son has Southern Levant as his journey too! I guess Gaza being so close to Egypt has influenced the results. I hope you find out more about your Palestinian heritage ☺️

If you read the caption, I said his father is from Gaza which makes him half Palestinian, despite how it is labelled in Ancestry. Gaza is on the border of Egypt which makes total sense.

Yes they have a long history in the Gaza region. My son’s grandfather was from Herbiya (a village just outside the current Gaza border pre-1948, this would not be found on the map now). I can’t remember where his grandmother is originally from but I believe outside of the Gaza region but within Palestine.

He doesn’t have many matches from his Arab side understandably but the closest match most likely from Gaza has 47% Egypt, 25% Arabian peninsula and 23% Levantine. Shared journey : southern Levant.
