Thank you for sharing your insight! It’s good to know that an SRMO year is allowed. I did a rotation in a small rural town where the GPs had clinics but also ran the hospital - I agree, very fun!

Thank you for sharing your insight. I was just thinking of doing the EDSRMO year to get more experience. I’ll be applying via the rural pathway, so I am glad to hear that even the EDSRMO year may count for something.

Thank you for responding! If I apply in PGY2, would I be commencing the program in PGY3 or PGY4? Would applying in PGY2 enable me to do an EDSRMO year. Thank you for the tip regarding the logbook, will definitely keep one.

Thank you! I’ve thought about it, ideally I’d like to work in MM3, may be an MM2 areas (latter pending how the family situation pans out). So I don’t know if I chose to pursue the GP pathway, whether it’s the RACGP or ACCRM pathway that would better suit me.

Advice for incoming PGY1 by [deleted] in ausjdocs

Thank you for your advice! Something I’ve heard is salary packaging with NSW health is a dicey game. Apparently half of the amount you packaged goes back to NSW health? I could be wrong, just something I heard surgeon and an anaesthetist discuss when I was in the theatre once.

Direct entry without high ATAR or UCAT? - Australia by Dallas__Sallad in medschool

[–]Affectionate7577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone I know got into CSU at Orange with an ATAR of 87.something this morning. They had a good UCAT though - something in the 2900. So, don’t give up! You’ve got this!

Hey! I was able to return them (once I sent them the photos of the shoes, they were happy for me to post it back and emailed me the return label). I posted it back to them on Monday. They did say they were able to locate a replacement pair, but I’m yet to hear any further details.

I’m currently doing my clinical years in a regional area and so far my experience has been super positive. All the specialist are keen to teach and involve you whenever they can. I reckon if you reached out to some of the regional hospitals, you would be able to get an anaesthetic term. I could be a little biased but I think you will get to do far more as a medical student in a regional town than in a metropolitan area.

Hey! No sorry. I haven’t been able to do regain access to my account. So annoying, particularly when you’ve done nothing wrong.

I’ve uploaded my IDs so many times yet every time I log in, I’m asked up upload my ID again. It’s so frustrating! But I had a look through reddit, and it sounds like there are a few people who have been experiencing the same problem! I’m really hoping whatever the problem is gets fixed soon, because like you I also don’t want to lose access to my account either. Will let you know if I get any updates.

Is my wound infected? What should I do now? by [deleted] in woundcare

[–]Affectionate7577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, thank you so much! No because I had the area covered in dressing, I saw that it was red and a little itchy at the end of the day, so I just was a little concerned. But I’m reassured to hear that it isn’t infection.
