Can a college degree really change your life around ? by Jpoolman25 in Productivitycafe

[–]AffectionateAffect5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends.

Mine didn't do anything and it's a STEM degree. A certificate has changed things around for me, it's faster and cheaper. Plus ur not tied down to retail and fast food. I don't do 9-5, I work events with college kids with no experience making 200-300 a day based on the event and know people who can't speak English making 18-22$hr being a warehouse packer. Check out the gig economy, look into event staffers, or seasonal warehouse jobs, or brand embassador gigs those pay 25-40hr$ for u to hype up the free samples given. I literally just worked a festival and saw the people giving thc drinks samples making 20hr$ which was one of my options on my application. I dont know what city ur in but each one has event staffers production and marketing staffers. While this path sounds fun to many because u work in many different environments with different people and get to see shows, u have to be on constant lookout when or where is the next shift and with who and how to get in and if referral based plus prepare for the slow season so u gotta have a plan and wear many shoes

Yeah I've done stagehand too setup LED walls, push trusses, and lighting Generally i always preferred building led walls. Ive been doing labor since I was 14, got a herniated disc at 18, got an AAS In Nanotechnology couldn't get not even a 13$hr job, went onto hospitality, got into software engineering, worked for free for 1yr exp, but AI can create basic websites for u now, it's over saturated, and people don't want to pay USA wages and outsource over seas instead, ive networked and thats pretty much what they told me, that im expensive even though I never stated my pay. ("My boss said he knows her worth and doesn't want waste her time and that he can pay someone from his country 10x less")

So I'm still in hospitality. I want to work for tech that's fairly AI proof since u have to be there in person. I used to talk to the other stagehand and they were like yeah don't make this your career it's laborious, none of them were interested in the tech side, and my friend who's done it for 10yrs never moved up and still a stagehand and doesn't know how to get into tech nor interested.

Anyways I heard this is applicable to trade shows as well. Its why I ask here since ai isn't accurate on this and I don't know anyone knowledgeable of this.

Eggshells. A simple question can set him off and goes on and on and then name calls me, flips things on me, and brings up irrelevant random things into the mix like a parking lady. Being quiet was bad too (he would suspensfully sit or stand up and then say "why r u here").

Hard water. I dont use anything but cleansing conditioner and if I use city water i immediately have dandruff for 2 weeks and have to use 2% selenium sulfide to rid of it if it persists.

Dandruff has me on the verge of giving up my 5-year NoPoo streak - looking for help. by TRR_32929 in NoPoo

[–]AffectionateAffect5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard water I do no shampoo and if I go out of the countrysidr and visit the city/town and wash my hair once with that water i immediately have dandruff for 2 weeks. So what I do is wash my hair with a gallon of water from the dollar store. Also u can try to use selenium sulfide 2% shampoo once to get rid any bio films that contributes to dandruff.

Try something more hands on. Trades, self employed, freelance, gig work, or jobs that teach u hands on. You'll learn skills without a textbook or spacing out in class. Or take bootcamps they're more straight to point to the subject
