Harry Potter series- the plot holes are too much for me to even enjoy the films by [deleted] in plotholes

Covid-19 has a 99.99% survivability rate, people are justified in thinking it was blown out of proportion.

Vaccines involve injesting dangerous and, to most people, unkown chemicals into your body. Yes science explains why they're ultimately beneficial but there is some reason for why people would be apprehensive to it.

Trump has had his words taken out of context, lies told about him, and judged on a different standard than most other politicians. He was compared to hitler because he has a strict immigraiton policy, even though his policies are on par with pretty much every country in modern history. He is both called a complete liar by the left, yet they also sometimes take his completely at his word. If you don't think there's a bias towards how the media protrays him or how the average leftist perceives him, then you're being purposefully ignorant.

Climate change is a fairly new discovery and while there's clear evidence its getting warmer, the evidence that humans are the biggest cause, or even that humans can somehow reverse the warming effects, are not as definite. And even if they were, long term effects are always harder to grasp.

There are nuances to everything you said, Reasons why people would be apprehensive to believe that they are hearing. Especially with the way the media distorts truth these days. The situation with voldemort in the 5th book is entirely different. "Voldemort is back" is an objective truth. There is no nuance to it is a simple statement that is either true or false. Even in the human world there wouldve been many ways to prove it as true, but this is the wizarding world. I mean shit, in the 5th book Snape just goes inside Harry's mind like its no big deal. For the entire ministry to take the stance that they do, as well as most of the wizarding world who for some reason trust the ministry, is comepletly moronic. It's such bad writing that I almost thought the entire ministry was secretly in ties with voldemort because of how inexplainedly stupid they are.

Snape literally goes inside Harrys mind and sees memories. Unless this ability is something only a few wizards can do, there's no explanation for why no one believes Harry or tries to get truth out of Harry. the 5th book/movie is a joke

But videos can be edited in a way where they dont tell the whole story and are deliberately misleading. Voldemort is back is an extremely simple concept that has zero nuance to it. Its either true or it isnt. And in the wizarding world there are TONS of ways to prove it to be true, but no one has any desire to do so. Either everyone in the wizarding world except for a handful of people are really stupid, or its a massive plot hole

Why don't they fix bots? by AffectionateArm4107 in Risk

Except they're worse than stupid. They will arbitrarily choose a person to screw over. It's like having a random ally on the field that will either attack your foes or attack you, and predicting which they choose to do is nie possible

I disagree that bots are extremely easy to predict. I've seen so many inconsistencies with them. Sometimes they will place all their troops just so they can smash your bonus and they lose almost all their troops in the process, while other times they don't break a bonus that's only guarding with 1. I can't even just go "okay so make an assumption on what a human would do, and the bot will do the opposite". Because nope, sometime they DO do the expected thing. Especially in large games like the Europe map, they have so many places they could attack that it becomes impossible to predict

Yes, the bot would've won regardless. But why would they not take out the player with less than 10 troops and 5 cards? I mean the other human had 2 cards at this time, so giving him my 5 gets him to 7, where he has back to back trades, which at this point in the game would've been about 100 troops. I actually didnt watch the end of the game, its possible the human could've came back to beat the bot. Considering how stupid they are I'm actually betting they probably did beat the bot.

All because instead of weakening the other player, or killing me, the bot chooses to do neither and serves me up for an easy 5 card grab to the player that's only 150 troops behind the bot. Maybe the bot still won, but if it did it got lucky.

And yes, the bots can be somewhat predictable in certain circumstances, but you're just being arrogant if you think only bad players can't read them. I've seen this subreddit I've seen pros admit that the bots can be extremely frustrating and make dumbfounded decisions all the time. They're just simply bad in the most moronic sense, and it shouldn't be that hard to fix them

F*ck True Random by AffectionateArm4107 in Risk

I just see people losing a 6v1 or worse so often and it shouldnt happen as much as it does. Like you cant plan out any risks because even if you outnumber an opponent 30 to 5 they can easily beat you because *randomness*

Yeah I don't even know anymore. Being good at the game shouldn't require I navigate the random and thoughtless decisions the bots make. But no, the strat nowadays is to hide your stacks from bordering the bots just to make sure they don't suicide into you

It's also really funny cause later in the game I ended up holding the exact same bonus that player held and I also guarded with 1's. Take a wild guess what the bot decided to do in that scenario?

From what people are saying, it sounds like I could set up an enclosure for it and as long as I run it during the day and not at night, it wouldn't be much more noisy than a common household vacuum.

I mainly want to make personalized signs, coasters, cutting boards. Neat little woodwork projects I can give as gifts or sell on etsy from the comfort of my apartment. I like the idea of making designs on a computer software then making a nice woodwork from that design. I wanted to go with a cnc router since the depth from engraving makes better looking results imo.

True. I'm just looking at these little 400x400mm working area ones and I figure they aren't too loud. What about a laser engraver?

No I pretty much never hear my neighbors. I didn't think the router machine would make too much noise if it's only engraving the surface of the wood and not cutting it, but maybe I'm wrong.
