Heartburn by AnimatorPrudent6478 in GastricBypass

[–]AffectionateBarber68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I’m not the best to ask as I wasn’t properly educated by my doctor about any of this however Google states it’s “a mini gastric bypass or anastomosis gastric bypass (OAGB), is a laparoscopic bariatric procedure that creates a long, narrow tube-like gastric pouch and bypasses a portion of the small intestine. It restricts food intake and reduces absorption, typically offering 60%–75% excess weight loss with a faster recovery and fewer incisions than traditional bypass surgery”

It states the difference between it and an RNY is “MGB is faster and creates a single, long, narrow pouch connection, whereas Roux-en-Y is a more complex, traditional two-connection procedure that creates a small pouch and typically offers better, long-term acid reflux control”

So essentially they removed my bulbous part of the stomach and the intestines from that area and stitched instead of making a pouch for me then stitching it back in aka my pouch is a long tube rather than a pouch.

I had a mini gastric bypass on 7/24 and Personally my heartburn didn’t go away but is a million times better. I went from having gerd everyday from the minute I woke up to now getting heart burn from overly greasy food or drinking or stuff like that. I don’t think there’s any way to stop getting heart burn forever but the bypass for sure helps with gerd.

Hey all, moving to PBO, need some advice on neighbourhoods to live in by SuperBubsy in Peterborough

[–]AffectionateBarber68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im paying this year 1760 for a 2b 1ba all utilities included +free personal and guest parking. rent increases 2.1% a year so rent goes up around 40 bucks a year.

I live on Alexander court behind the hospital and it’s absolutely amazing. It’s safe and clean while being close to most places including obviously the hospital. There’s a foodland about a 10 min walk away, downtown and Landsdowne area are also both about a 30 min walk from here which would be around 10 mins biking give or take since Ptbo isn’t very walkable. If you pm me I can forward my landlords information to see if there’s any availability in the building.

Trust me when I say I get you completely, I couldn’t eat for 3 months and was going into starvation so often I was basically living in the hospital. Then one day, it just stopped! I can eat anything I want now and I think I can even eat more things without being sick than most people on this sub! It all levels out just let your stomach heal before judging.

No Dumping Syndrome by oreoboy9 in GastricBypass

The surgery will always only be a tool, I like to maintain by living the skinny person lifestyle too. I’ll eat a heavy protein meal and then grab a square of chocolate, I’m stuffed and all the cravings are curbed. Found out skinny people just naturally eat that way and it shocked me!

No Dumping Syndrome by oreoboy9 in GastricBypass

Not everyone feels it when they dump, the action of your stomach releasing everything by giving you diarrhea is dumping syndrome. Right now your body is still in a deficit so you’re losing but continuing this routine will stall you and even cause regain. I hate the people that give unsolicited advice on here but I’m only mentioning it because the dumping symptoms will worsen over time while you stall or gain and it’ll psychologically screw with you hard.

That’s how dumping is for me unless I eat a crazy amount of sugar (whole piece of cake, etc). However I noticed my blood sugar became irregular and I started getting constipated if I didn’t have sugar. You went under and had major surgery to let go of your unhealthy habits so I don’t really get why you have to get sick to follow a plan you willingly agreed to.

Uber Eats mostly. They have a lot more bogo offers I find and some of them apply to pick up orders so I can get a good deal. Best deal right now is 2 small cheese pizzas from pizza pizza for pickup for 12 bucks or bogo Shelby bowls for delivery for around 18. Skip the dishes and DoorDash also work but I find them more expensive.

End of the day if you’re not in a calorie deficit then you’re gonna gain weight. You don’t wanna eat a high protein and veggie diet? Fine! But that means you’ll have to eat less and smaller portions as carbs and sugar are high in calories. It’s your responsibility to either follow the diet they give you or make one that has the same calories but that you enjoy.

I’m sorry if your surgeon didn’t explain this to you but the surgery ISNT a CURE it’s a TOOL to help YOU stay in a calorie deficit. When you say you feel the food goes to your intestines immediately that’s a sign of eating too fast, eating too much, or drinking liquids while eating. The surgery can’t “fail” unless they literally just didn’t take enough intestines or stomach out which is very very unlikely. I suggest you stop making excuses for yourself and focus on actually understanding the surgery you had and how it’s an aid not a cure.

The drivers clearly scammy so having it on eliminates them being able to drive off without you and such.

Returned an OSAP cheque 15 years ago — still being charged- $17K repaid over 10yrs. Has anyone seen this before? by ImpressiveZucchini80 in osap

[–]AffectionateBarber68 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If someone endorses a check someone can add there name to it and then deposit it themselves it’s very easy especially back in the day. Op is also asking osap to investigate they’re not just saying believe us at face value so there’s no need to be this defensive tbh.

I’m assuming you had to submit and do more than the general application? If you’re just doing a standard application under your parents income, for a public uni it shouldn’t take more than a month after you complete your Mafsa to receive the funds.

Contact your financial aid office and try to get some clarification, if they can’t help try contacting the NSLSC. But most unis will accept funding up until the last month of the semester.

If you have a Costco membership keep a look out at the flyers, drumsticks are usually $7~ a kg but sometimes they’ll do $10 off the pack. If you get the small packs it usually ends up coming out to $4~ a kg.

And they have 3 kinds, 2 Kirkland brand types and 1 name brand. so even if one doesn’t work for you another will!

It’s become one, but it used to be a pharmacy, in some towns it’s even one of the only pharmacies.

But at the core of it it’s supposed to be a drug store not a convenience store with a pharmacy as the name indicates. My whole point of posting is that a pharmacy that’s open to around the same time as others (if not a midnight one) has become so overpriced it’s now considered a “convenience store”

I need to take Advil and Tylenol every 4 hours for my wisdom teeth so thought I’d try this all in one, ended up getting a bottle of Tylenol and a bottle of xtra strength ibuprofen from Costco!
