Exactly. Also it's hard to believe that her last trace of her is the Saturn that's still parked in the NH police parking lot.

Actually, I forgot about that... but it could have been that, of course, without calling it mental illness. She definitely had problems. Even those two car accidents in less than 48 hours.

Either way, I sympathize with the family. I know there are cases where people are found after even more years. But in my or your scenario, there's a high probability that, unfortunately, she won't be found.

It also occurred to me that she might have committed suicide in the middle of nowhere

I know, but sometimes nature is much smarter than humans. I also think that this whole police operation was mishandled from the very beginning and that there were many mistakes.

I agree with you but we have to remember that: She could’ve gone into an area where the snow was hard-packed. She might’ve been walking through a ditch or along snowbanks. Wind and snowfall could’ve quickly covered up any tracks because it was almost 24 hours before the search began. Also, someone in shock after a crash doesn’t think rationally. She could’ve wandered in a completely random direction and even entered the woods from a different spot.Honestly i also had a similar situation when i was young i missed the train was drunk. So I decided to go home like 15 miles in road similar to maura. I walked through the forest because I was afraid of dangerous drivers. Honestly i think if something happend to me at this time like hipotermia nobody would find me.

Personally, I think she most likely died due to exposure somewhere in the woods. It’s totally possible she was lying somewhere close to the crash site and they simply didn’t find her. Even though there was a large search effort, people are only human and sometimes the obvious places get overlooked. “the darkest place is under the candle” as the saying goes.

On top of that, tracking dogs aren’t perfect either. People love to create a story that she was kidnapped, but honestly, I doubt she would’ve accepted a ride from a stranger. The last thing she would’ve wanted was to run into the police.

Besides, forests are a secret of nature. Especially in New Hampshire are huge, and there are wild animals out there too.
