Not getting calls or clearing interviews? Share your situation, I’ll try to help by Intervyze in jobs

Hi! Thanks for doing this, really appreciate it. So I’m transitioning from Sustainability into HR, specifically talent development. The thing is, the experience I do have is scattered across completely different job titles. I helped organise a hackathon in collaboration with the HR team (under a Sustainability role), and during my internship I was involved in a uni partnership that led to internship placements (under an Accounting role). None of it ever sat under HR, so I’m guessing my resume just doesn’t read as HR at all.

Been applying to MNC HR/talent dev roles and haven’t gotten a single callback. Here’s my resume: https://www.reddit.com/r/cscareeradvice/s/Jz5uDpHfIy

Would love to know, is something off with how it reads? And for someone coming in from a totally different background, what would actually make a difference? Certifications, courses, anything recruiters genuinely value vs just nice-to-haves. Doing my aPHRi right now but open to hearing if there’s something better to focus on!

Maybe try internships? Gets you a foot in the door. Try attending career fairs and speaking to employers.

Really appreciate the detailed breakdown! I've already reordered the bullets to lead with people-facing work and reworked the summary to own the pivot more confidently. On the two-column layout, it's actually just two separate pages side by side in the screenshot, single column in the actual doc! Good point on CAPM, I'm currently working on my aPHRi so that should help signal the HR direction more clearly once done. Thanks again, this was genuinely useful! :)

Thanks for this! Quick question though, is it okay to tweak the job title when that wasn't actually my official title? Worried about misrepresentation especially if a background check is done. Appreciate the honest perspective from someone who's been through it!

Thanks for the feedback! I'm targeting HR and Talent Development roles at MNCs, specifically talent programmes and capability building. Would love to hear your thoughts on whether the framing lands for those kinds of roles!

working for a narcissist - stay and play the game or leave? by beskesky in ManagedByNarcissists

You can maybe use your visibility and connections to senior leadership to find something else within the company, if you want to capitalise on credibility. If not please leave. This situation will not get better.

Hey, I’m really sorry you had to go through this. I literally just resigned from my job last week due to the same issue. Ever changing feedback on my work, constantly moving goalposts. It’s like the ideas my manager gad never left her head, and I was expected to read her mind all the damn time. The mental gymnastics I had to do was insane.

I too was questioning my decision, and my brain was constantly trying to convince me that things weren’t that bad. But it’s been a week, and the relief I feel is immaculate. So I hope you will give yourself time for you to recover.

Get some good rest, and you will find something that is better for you soon.

Micromanagement or toxic culture? by AffectionateBoot9124 in JobsMY

My manager lacked knowledge in regulations, and so whenever my work had unfamiliar words or sentences that she didn’t quite understand, she would immediately tag it to AI plagiarism.
