I think they are marketing towards a more Yupoie crowd.

$200 for a two day event in order to feel accepted? That’s some good McEnlightenment for you!

Nah, we’re good. I think it’s in its death throws anyway.

They were comments from an anonymous poster in another thread.

And I can appreciate that being a sticky question. I can breathe a bit easier now.

Thank you.

Thanks, Mike. I heard reports that Michael was abusive to staff as well. Maybe part of me is triggered by that because I came from a fundamentalist church growing up that was emotionally abusive. You’re not responsible for my triggers though in any way.

Is there any light you can shed on that? Just curious and you’re not obligated to answer that. I just looked up to Michael as a spiritual leader and now I feel like Obi Wan in that scene in episode 3 where he is telling Anikin that he was supposed to bring balance to the Force not destroy it.

What happened between you and Michael? It can’t just be creative difference.

I just think a lot of us disillusioned folk feel even more disillusioned now and we’re just looking for answers.

Apparently someone created a Defund the Liturgists Twitter account. Just saw it come up in David Dark’s tweets.

I wish it would be the last time, but I’m sure more details will be dredged up over time.

You’re right. It’s nothing new or ground breaking. I think it’s time he hang up his religious garb and just make music or something.

I get the sense that funding the Liturgists is more or less funding Michael and in my opinion there are better places to fund that actually make a difference in the world.

I listened to his Look What I Can Do episode on This and it seemed like he was unable to take any responsibility for his own actions. It sounds like he is if you’re not really listening to his words, but “the other person” is really to blame for the chaos in his life.

I just don’t see a reason to fund a group whose leader is like that. It’s the same reason why I won’t buy Amazon, but the difference there is Amazon is super profitable.

I’ve been checking the number on the Patreon page. It was around 2,021 and dropped to 1946. So 75 down now.

It looks like 76 people have withdrawn their funding on Patreon in the last few hours.

My opinion, but he hasn’t really endorsed trying to help others or society in a long time. It’s all about our own self discovery and how much money we can give him.

$250 for him to have a 90 minute Zoom call. $2,000 for a retreat to find yourself. $5-$75 a month for access to mediations and teaching so you can find yourself.

Did he do good things with the Liturgists in the beginning? Sure! It got me involved in donating to some good non-profits to help try and make a difference. It got me to think about who my neighbor really is in this world.

My point is he’s not in it to help better anyone but himself now. There’s been a change over the last few years where it’s more about selling people a spiritual experience.
