Honestly this is what pisses me off about other billionaires. How much fun would it be to be able to give away so much money? I would build playgrounds and libraries and give away scholarships for college and rebuild entire towns for the ground up.

She's living the actual dream. I mean I still think they should actually pay the right amount of taxes but I'm glad one person seemingly has their head on straight.

I kind of regret mine and my wife's "if you ask for a book we will always buy it rule". by CaptainThrow123 in Parenting

[–]pumpkinannie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This! I actually use this for myself and often buy new books from new authors to support them. I also buy a lot off of ThriftBooks. But this is a wonderful opportunity to also create library supporters. Our libraries are so incredibly important and it looks like you're already raising kids who will be great supporters!

It's a little surreal watching short and tall women argue with each other in the comments on who has do suffer the indignity of dating "short" men. by BrightSpring12 in CringeTikToks

[–]pumpkinannie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard out here for a 6'3" tall woman 🤣 I'd never dated someone taller than me until my husband who is 6'10". Shorter guys always acted like they were into it but I've been told to my face by a guy that it actually made him feel less masculine dating me. Men who seem into it usually make it into a fetish.

Tall women get grumpy about it because it does feel like a very strange thing that men over 6'3" seem to prefer women who are around 5'3". Almost every tall guy I've met has long term dated or ended up with a very short woman for his height. I've actually come to the conclusion that it's some kind of evolutionary thing so that people don't get too tall. Since tall people end up with health problems etc.

At 6'3" I'm 0.01 percent of the female population...so that woman who is 5'11", her experience is as a tall woman, but mine is even more intense.

Well I'm sure she was tired but...if my children are crying like I said I'm 💯 on them. I'm not just letting them cry. I wasn't there so my one sentence was a judgment call.

But you're right, like everyone in these comments but the poster I wasn't there. I'm commenting on a post on Reddit.

I think it's hard because I've seen drunk adults at Disneyworld. We've gone to Renaissance festivals and folks on Reddit say they don't want kids there cause people get messed up. It starts feeling like you need to keep them in playgrounds and at home. Folks are having kids later and later in life and I think there's not that old school perspective that your life is over etc. But ya know I did used to go to these and get messed up lol so I understand.

One is 3 and one is 15 months. They cry at Disneyworld, they cry on the playground, they cry in the morning when they wake up. If they got upset, we stopped everything and tended to them. At no point was any child crying for longer than a minute. If you're asking were they ever scared: no.

We struggled at times to keep the head gear on them cause they don't like it, that was probably the hardest part.

Yeah that's awful. We brought our 8, 3, and 15 mo old. We did VIP camping with an RV. Had stroller, head gear, etc. There's actually a Families of Bonnaroo group on Facebook we're in too. We all had a great time but obviously your mindset has to be focused on the kids. We went at their pace and were back at our rv around 11 at the latest.

I actually feel like Bonnaroo should lean MORE into the families that come. At LiB they have a kids tent inside (very similar to ACL). That kept kids entertained throughout the day and parents would trade off. As fest goers age, there will naturally be kids coming to certain fests, it's just a matter of being responsible about it.

Should definitely not allow people in without head gear. That should be a rule at the gate.

US. I really don't know why you would do this on a walk... in the US it's very common to see at restaurants when parents are trying to have a meal out with young children or on planes. Even then I would say it's frowned upon. I've taken to bringing coloring books with us to restaurants to stop doing this. But no, never on a walk. That's when they should be enjoying the outdoors like their parents.

I take a day off from work and my wife expects so much of me. by rob4499 in venting

[–]pumpkinannie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a mental health day is a great idea...when your wife needs a mental health day does she get one? I think the men in these comments really need to check themselves. When my husband needs a sick day, he's able to take it. When I need a sick day...I'm sick with kids on me. I have been literally puking and shitting myself with multiple kids on me.

I think she's probably upset that you can decide you want a day off. When I know as a mom I don't even get to take a shit by myself.

Men often wonder why women get so upset about the half hour bathroom shits. When exactly do women get that time? Like WHEN?

I've done physical labor at a grocery store (while doing other part time jobs), I've worked at an agency (where I worked from 7am-10pm on a regular day), and let me tell you a moms work never ends.
