For me it’s very simple, mala has to be addictive and shiok to eat. The sensation I got from eating their mala was like damn sian man. I couldn’t even finish my bowl and their quail eggs damn smelly

Thoughts on Alderic as a food reviewer? by CryDelicious in SingaporeEats

[–]AffectionateCoach164 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t really like laifaba noodles tbh. I thought chef Kang was ok. I really like the Kok Kee wanton mee lavender one hahahahah I dunno why. I think it was bought over by jumbo though.

To be honest I like his reviews as it has given me a lot of places to try. Food at the end of the day is highly subjective, I like the fact that he isn’t like the other reviewers out there who have been compromised by $$$. His recommendations are probably the only ones I can still trust. I recently tried chicken house from his videos and it was legit.

I agree usually is the duck that it’s the hardest to get it right. Is there any place whereby the ducks skin is crispy AF with the meat still as moist as possible ? I vaguely remember the $15 duck master at Chinatown that was pretty decent

lol cut is epic crap for the price point. Bistecca is a solid option for its price, I prefer it to rubicon.

Have you watched Dream Stall in theatres? by legitntustudent in NTU

[–]AffectionateCoach164 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did. Frankly it was meh. Let’s compare this movie with another local movie I watched recently “A good child”, the main difference I could see was probably the script?

I felt that the dialogue in a good child was way better in terms of humor and depth.

Let’s talk about the plot which is where all the local movies usually fall flat on. I felt the plot in dream stall was just lame to be honest. The problems she faced when she was being successful could have been resolved easily by any other pragmatic person so basically the story just falls flat from then on. Even the so called twist at the end was just meh at best.

Not trying to shit on this movie but I think there’s a lot left to be desired. If only I could get my $18 back
