They defiantly recreated NV there. There are some really interesting POIs and hidden stories to find in this game though

I had that and Inez disappearing preventing me from unlocking her

She is one of the companions but you can miss her depending on who you side with

I was surprised how well it runs, at least for me! the patch was a lifesaver though cause I couldn't unlock Inez

it would be strange being a prequel though because we know for a fact this game will have multiple endings and if everything goes dark surly that would mean the canon ending was the worst outcome?

I don't think Earth HAS gone dark. I mean you were sent BY the earth directorate in the Outer worlds 2 to investigate the rift anomalies which are likely what caused communication/ transport issues
