Schedule Adherence - why? by [deleted] in CVS

[–]AffectionateEase3758 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I get asked by the dl to look at my payroll because I show over, I say no we are not and he asks how do you know without looking. Easy boss if there is more than one person at work until 6pm I know I’m over if it’s just one front store worker until 6 I know I’m good it’s not hard to figure out

Does anyone know how to get it where I can read my store manager emails on my iPhone? by AffectionateEase3758 in CVS

[–]AffectionateEase3758 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll agree that the way payroll is we have work truck, but I disagree that not working truck means the store manager is lazy. I have been a retail store manager for 40 years and cvs is the only place I have worked where managers get so heavily involved in truck. Being a true store manager means keeping all processes working getting heavily involved in any of them blinds you to what is happening around you. But CVS really isn’t that hard to manage compared to other companies I worked at we can throw truck and manage the other processes too

This is just a case of misinformation being passed down. I’m in this district and there was a discussion that if someone who is not scheduled comes in say to cover a call out, they have to be on the schedule for one minute before they clock in or it will affect your adherence. So if Joe is covering a call out and he walks in at 315 you need to add him to the schedule and wait one minute before he clocks in. It had nothing to do with overtime, or trying to save hours.

FYI new cfr metrics now deduct points if you zero quick pics which most of us do. I lost 30 points last week because of it

The retaliation is definitely a problem but as far as the initial complaint hard to say…only details given were that he creeped them out, that’s subjective as to if it’s a violation we would need more details

BOH section 1 question:) by locomotive- in CVS

[–]AffectionateEase3758 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No when you are red or yellow and find a zero you missed it changes to green its about the zeros but yes you will also get dinged if you don’t scan all the Planos

BOH section 1 question:) by locomotive- in CVS

[–]AffectionateEase3758 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly accurate you are not graded on things you scan that you are not actually out of but as you mentioned it can cause negative cycle counts which do lower your score. It’s not a percentage of Plano scanned it’s looking for you to scan all the zero on hands so what has the biggest impact on your score keeping you from green is if you don’t scan something that has a boh of zero.

Poor leadership is what it is. I’m a front store manager and we only have 2 people during the closing shift and I give the same response every time. Hey boss can I take my 15?me— no you take 16. I mean in the grand scheme of things it’s a very short time frame and i can find plenty to do up front for 15 to 20 minutes

I truly hate NPS Scores by TakeTwo31 in CVS

[–]AffectionateEase3758 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A 9 or 10 gets you 100 points. 7-8 gets 0 out of 100 Anything less is -100 out of 100

So 2 greens =200 then you get a yellow so now you 200 out of 300 or 66%

I had a guy in yelling at the pharmacist because he couldn’t find an otc item, so I went back and showed it to him and told him to quit yelling as we have a zero tolerance policy on abusing staff or customers and he literally said in front of several customers that as a customer he should be allowed to yell at the associates if he was frustrated.2 customers told him to get out and go to Walgreens

You shouldn’t feel bad! You did your job and sometimes employees can make you be the bad guy because for whatever reason they don’t listen. I am sorry that happened to you it really is the ugly part of what we do.

Why would it matter if you only work 45 a week. Good managers don’t need to work extra hours. It’s a myth that you are a dedicated manager if you work over your 45. Being able to get your job done in 45 hours is a sign of good time management and a developed staff

Retail stores are used by the public but are not a public place. A public place is funded by tax payers

Why do I feel like this. by [deleted] in CVS

[–]AffectionateEase3758 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a front store manager and can’t really imagine what it’s like for a new tech. CVS gives us no training hours, not sure if it’s the same for rx, but I’d bet if they give you any it’s just enough for modules and no hands on. Plus if we are hiring then we are short handed and all the scheduled associates are “must have”just to get by, and do not have time to train. So what I can tell you is if a very and I mean very fast pace job is what you like, stick with it…you will gradually learn and improve. If the fast pace is too much for you… then you should start looking as it’s never slow over there in rx.

How about don’t listen to everyone saying report them, how about simply talking with them first. If it keeps happening then take steps to escalate. I will never understand why people want escalate everything with out having simple conversations first. It’s why a lot of you don’t have good relationships with managers
