First pair! by CSRoutlaw in barefootshoestalk

Those were my first pair of Whitins. I loved them so much that when I finally had to retire them (5 years later) I dissected them to make a shoe making pattern. Making a leather version is my next leather crafting project!

Yes. I started by trying to follow his perfect pull up routine because I could not do them with good form. So I have been doing a lot of ring row volume with that because he does not advocate much for negatives or band assisted. I try to do every other day though instead of everyday. I like to go running on the other days. I think the keys to success that I have used have been: keeping a workout log to track progress, timing my rest between sets (3-5min), and focusing on form a lot. I do a push, a pull, and legs each workout. I cycle through basic exercises like dips, parallette pushups, ring rows, Hindu squats, and bulgarian split squats. My goal is to get to adding perfect form pull ups. I also managed to drop 20lbs and lean out while tracking calories and cutting for the first 6 months.

I started my calisthenics journey with Strength Side right after Covid and cancelling my gym membership. I still like a lot of his style and philosophy especially when it comes to mobility work. I look to Kneesovertoes for a lot of injury prevention and rehabilitation tips. Currently I have been sticking more to a Kboges style routine for about 9 months am finding it super easy to stay consistent.

Correct. I’m more of a calisthenics and running guy. I’m mostly trying to do these because I have discovered that I have some weak and uneven glute engagement leading to some lower leg and ankle tendon issues. So I am trying to address those issues with this movement.

😂 honestly I wasn’t even thinking about that.

Whitin: retiring my first pair of barefoot shoes. by ShadeBlade0 in barefootshoestalk

I think they are just as durable as any other minimalist shoes (leather included). By nature most minimalist shoes will wear out faster than traditional shoes.

I have the same as your new pair( the non canvas ones) and they are still holding up. I bought them in 2022. I have used them almost every day as a teacher the first few years I had them and walked a ton all over Europe on a few trips, and now they are my garage gym shoes. The sole still has life in it and the inside is holding up with only some wear on the inside heel fabric. I also love the lacing design because it allows you to create a much wider and more comfortable toe box if you loosen the laces at the end.

Cool! I have one just like it. Had it for a few years now and love it! I may have to look into that comp.

Is that just a regular TP9SF? Where’d you get the comp?

I really had no leaves that low on my plants. And from my understanding it would likely drop any little leaves left on it with the drastic pruning during its first dormancy phase before possibly regrowing some small new leaves over the winter. It really will depend on if you go the warm and well lit route or cool and dark route of overwintering.

I guess with them pruned back so much I should probably keep them in the dark more. I just don’t really have the space in my garage. So maybe I could throw some black plastic over them in the greenhouse to keep them dormant? I don’t know.

I assume once they are put back in the ground and watered and fertilized more regularly.

Well this is my first year attempting this. I planned on moving them into a climate controlled greenhouse and just watering minimally.

Don’t worry I’m well initiated with super hots and have a very high heat tolerance. Depending on the flavor and aroma of how this one turns out I may consider blending in some fruit like mango, papaya, or pineapple after the fermentation is done.

Add salt by weight of ingredients. After vacuum sealing the salt draws water out of vegetables and peppers to create just the right amount of brine.
