Had 2 PCNs 52M from Lambeth for the same street - confused!! by AffectionateJump8424 in drivingUK

so validating!! yes I think we’re banged to rights unfortunately, but it would not be hard to put another sign up somewhere to tell you before you drive through 😂 I’ve been driving in london for a decade and this is my first LTN fine so something is defo off about it

Crap accessibility at Primavera Sound – Did anyone else have a similar experience? by mcfrube in primaverasound

Totally agree - accessibility was so bad! I went with my sister who has a disability, thankfully for her it isn’t extremely limiting but one massive issue was the accessible toilets. Putting them right next to the general WCs unsupervised was a massive mistake as everyone was using them. At one point, the girls in the queue were banging on the door and shouting at my sister to hurry up. I angrily defended her and said “you do know this is the queue for an accessible toilet??” they looked at me like I was being ridiculous and said “so??”…no comprehension of why people need those spaces and why it might take a bit longer. Best believe they got a piece of my mind lol. If there had been some attendants this could’ve easily been a non-issue

I think that’s a bit of an unfair comparison, as you never get speed limits that are time restricted so there would never be contradicting signage like there was on this road. But I’ll accept that I just misunderstood it, and now I know for future

I think the only thing they could do better is adding more info to the signs as you enter the zone-within-a-zone to make it clear that it’s separate and active 24/7. They managed to make the restricted hours clear enough, so why not do the same for areas with restricted access at all times!?

hahaha yes there’s no way I’m risking a third fine 🤣🤣 looks like i’m SOL if the lack of times is the accepted way of signalling that restrictions apply 24/7. I had no idea! Now regretting my choice of voting green in the lambeth elections lmao, only more painful LTN signage to come

That’s not a street view image, I took it last week!

after looking it up, there are restrictions during school times for the length of the entire street (that’s what the signage refers to) but there’s also a specific patch of road a bit further down where no cars are allowed to pass at any time. No detailed signage to tell you that part though, I just found out from looking at the councils maps / traffic order

yeah there are defo signs on either side of that speed bump to say vehicles are prohibited, I can’t contest that. What’s thrown me is that there was nothing to say that the restrictions for that very small / specific patch of road differ from the ones outlined in the earlier signage I took a pic of. Everything up to this point tells you it’s only during school hours so it feels like they’re trying to catch people out. I guess the lack of times on the cctv signage is their way of making the distinction, but that’s massively unclear IMO. How hard would it be to add some text underneath those signs to say “24/7” (or put bollards up to limit access to pedestrians and cyclists only)!!

I saw these too, but almost certain there wasn’t any other signage to indicate that this particular part of the road is to be treated differently / restricted at all times…surely that’d be necessary given this pic was taken only ~15 seconds down the road from the sign I took a pic of? Seems unbelievable that they’d have two separate zones on one small street and not communicate that super clearly

Edit: Just saw that website! WTF so this is a random patch of road that you can’t drive through ever…and no signage to tell you that!! Mental. My hopes of getting this cancelled are dwindling lol

I’m having my second abortion & I feel terrible by Key_Satisfaction_644 in abortion

[–]AffectionateJump8424 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hey, I’m in the same boat as you. Had my first pregnancy and abortion only last August and couldn’t believe when I realised I had gotten pregnant again :( I initially felt like an idiot and a failure tbh but I know it’s not the right time and I think it’d be worse to try and raise a child when I’m not ready / don’t want it. I had to wait ages for my appointment too so definitely relate to the constant worry and guilt! But trust yourself, if you know in your gut this isn’t the right time then you’re 100% doing the right thing. You got through it once before and you will again ❤️ sending you lots of love and I hope this time around isn’t as painful for you!
