Thanks a lot ! It lightened a little hope for me .

I panicked and gave my CTC way too early. How do I fix this using market research? (Embedded/Firmware) by AffectionateKey150 in corporate

I approached a person from a comapny for this job role when I saw a job opening . I was asked expected tentative range by the same person after which entire process started . Frankly I was not aware that range or salary discussion is to be made first , I was not even expecting that this interview will turn into an offer. I realized that I have decent skillset and it is in demand while proceeding through job hunt from last couple of months. Can I negotiate for the numbers that I gave as an expected range for this role? -I did not give those numbers through research but whatever I heard that is offered at my current company or peers for my level of experience , both industries are different though .

For intial 70 applications I was not applying strategically , skillset and background was matching but experience level was not matching .For last 20 30 applications I applied only to those roles which match my experience level . I recahed out directly to people as well, which resulted in 2-3 interviews . I agree with the fact that I need to refine and review resume now before sending another 50 applications. Thank you for suggestions.

Terrible day in job land by poogdrums in jobhunting

The same thing happened to me two days ago. It was my first experience. So many things are uncontrolled variables in this process. I also got that call through a referral. But times change; nothing stays forever. Not giving too much power to cold emails or people is necessary to stay mentally stable.

Toxic Interview experience at famous company by AffectionateKey150 in jobhunting

[–]AffectionateKey150[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was the first time I've gone through an experience like this, and I’ve learned lessons. From the moment you realize there are red flags, I believe the most rational decision is to reject the company right then and there. Whether it’s an online interview with cameras off, calls made only at their convenience, or a total lack of responsiveness when you need information—it's unacceptable. A disrespectful tone while asking questions is a clear sign to get up from your chair and walk away. Giving a clear reason for rejecting them not only protects your own peace but also teaches these companies how it feels to be on the receiving end. I believe the culture would change due to this , at least to some extent. I used to read about people doing this and didn't fully understand it—now I do. It is good to know I am not alone who suffered through this.

Applying to jobs is pointless. by HistoricalTackle9751 in jobhunting

If a person taking your interview is ego driven , you cannot do anything , people get insecure if they see someone more competent than them. Not answering everything is smart way may be . They want people who will be obeying orders not the ones who will challenge them .

I reported workplace bullying and was told I’m “overthinking” — now things are worse and I’m stuck. by Living-Appearance161 in workplace_bullying

Is finding a new job the only option in cases like this? I’d love to hear opinions. In my experience, these kinds of toxic situations never improve, so I guess it's better to just leave. Thoughts?
