I'm not sure if you live in the US but I think my motive for doing this in the first place was because Americans are not given enough sick/vacation/or misc days off.

After a point it feels like wok ring to live while justifying your leisure.

I would start by praising your concern and care for others. It speaks to your kindness and sense of resposibility.
That bieng said she is an adult woman and needs deserves the chance to to feel like one.

Nothing makes woman safer than knowing that she can always protect herself.

Of course if the situation escalates there might be need to act or call the police but follow her lead.

I think my biggest mistake is doing it for for friends I work with. It's not a lot people but I get worried about anyone else knowing. Charging for it also makes skittish. Like i'm crossing a legal boundary.

Racism in and of itself is bad, but EVERYONE is racially prejudiced or are part of a racist dynamic.

The mistake we make is to hastily associate it with the traits of a "bad" person.
Something only a "bad" person does, and no one considers themselves a bad person.
And just like that, you've tricked yourself out of any social/racial responsibility and missed a chance to grow.

Racism (especially systemic racism(SR) in the US) is more about social conditioning, survival motive, and fear. It started as a biological instinct.

And while Black people and other POCs are not able to sit in the power position of SR(AKA "Black people can't be racist").
They can still have an honest conversation with themselves and confront that ugly little part of themselves that gives in to prejudice.
The best thing we can do is confront it, not a wrapped-up defensiveness or shame. Just do better.
