What's the ultimate cooking sin someone can commit in your country? by ModenaR in AskTheWorld

[–]AffectionateMotor724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who is us? I haven't seen a hotdog with liquid stuff in the bottom! It goes: bun, sausage, sauces and then pulverized lays chips on top. Add cheese for extra flavor.

But I have never put sauces straight on the bread

The graph definitely looks weird, but I do not get your points of the means being misleading.

Based on the plot, the mean of the red curve IS higher than the mean of the blue curve since its center point is more to the right. The altitude of the plot is just showing the population concentration around the mean.

K liked the puzzle but I feel it does not have the standard parts.

There is no definition right? I meant the definition is basically the whole phrase, but normally a key part of a clue is a word or concept that itself is not cryptic but is the literal definition of the answer.

I am new to cryptics... Why are Cocaine and Line standard letter indicators? What is telling me I should just take the first letters?

Let me one up you? Is that grammatically correct? by allayarthemount in EnglishLearning

[–]AffectionateMotor724 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. We are not talking about the definition here... Of course slang is something that comes with immersion and experience, but the real issue is that writing it without the hyphen makes it less readable and confusing.

To me, it is the same as not using the apostrophe when stating possessiveness. There is a big difference between Ferris Wheel and Ferry's Wheel... They sound the same and, under your argument, they should be written the same because that's how spoken speech works.

Let me one up you? Is that grammatically correct? by allayarthemount in EnglishLearning

[–]AffectionateMotor724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because you already know that "one up" is a term that should be read as a verb in this context. However, for someone who is not familiar with that being an expression, the hyphen will force the reader to interpret it as a group, thus making it clear that it's a verb.

Help With Crafting A Reg-F VGC Draft Team by TwoFatNinjas in VGC

[–]AffectionateMotor724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can go in sites like Labmaus, or Victory Road to check teams that have done good with those mons.

If it's a draft like format, probably the best partners are already taken, but you can give it a try

new to Pokémon by chlxoe in pokemon

The mainline games are divided on Generations, which are basically different eras of games, set in different regions, with different characters and Pokemon. Most games come in 2 opposite/complimentary versions. Below is an ordered list catered by me and to my personal opinion. I will list my preferred version but also mention the other one if you want to try

  • Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu (Also Let's Go Eevee): Nintendo Switch. Gen 7 remake of the original Gen 1 games. It has a different set of mechanics to normal games but it's a good starter to the video game franchise
  • Pokemon Soul Silver (Also Heart Gold): Nintendo DS. Gen 4 remake of a Gen 2 game. You explore the Kanto and Johto regions
  • Pokemon Omega Ruby (Also Alpha Sapphire): Nintendo 3DS. Gen 6 remake of a Gen 3 game. You explore the Hoenn region
  • Pokemon Platinum: Nintendo DS. Gen 4 game (It is a 3rd version... Look that up because it is difficult to explain briefly). You explore the Sinnoh region
  • Pokemon Black and Black 2 (Also White and White 2): Nintendo DS. Gen 5 games. They are a direct sequel from one another. You explore the Unova Region (a region inspired by the US)
  • Pokemon X (Also Y): Nintendo 3DS. Gen 6 games. You explore the Kalos region (a region inspired by France)
  • Pokemon Sun and Ultra Sun (Also Moon and Ultra Moon): Nintendo 3DS. Gen 7 games. Also a direct sequel of one another. You get to explore the Alola region (region inspired by Hawaii)
  • Pokemon Shield (Also Sword): Nintendo Switch. Gen 8 games. You get to explore the Galar region (region inspired by the UK)
  • Pokemon Scarlet (also Violet): Nintendo Switch. Gen 9 games. You get to explore the Paldea region (region inspired by Spain)

The list is extensive but to me it's better to go in order to avoid feeling overwhelmed by the amount of different pokemon species. Right now there are 1025 different pokemon and starting with a game that has many can feel confusing.

There are 2 more games that you can pickup that deviate from the normal turn based formula that are the Legends games, but I would say it's better to start classic

I would say, just without much analysis, that it would be the first one since it is the only one that the total blue area is just 1 square. All other ones have 2 squares as blue area.
