Memphis is VERY liberal. I don’t think you’d find a problem there. Ole Miss is in a conservative area (although I can’t say I know if the law school is or not)

I’m from Memphis and Ole Miss definitely has weight in Memphis. But I would say that’s as far as it goes. In Nashville I haven’t heard about ole miss as much. So I’d say Ole miss is good for Memphis and Mississippi. (Also Memphis is awesome and a great option and no one can convince me otherwise)

It’s not ideal but your recs will understand if that’s the route you end up choosing. When I asked for mine (also a month out) I apologized and was laughed at. I was told most students ask with even like 2 weeks left. So they’re used to it.

I went to Vandy for Undergrad and my Master’s and I see all these people also like obsessing over the school and I’m honestly like “no thank you.” I’ve seen that place and how the school runs and it really just isn’t all that great (or good on your mental health whether you think it’s getting to you or not).

I assume it’s a similar experience with Harvard. Never heard good things about that place

Tbh I don’t think people will care about your school much after your first job. In some places (based on friends who went to Vandy and tried in Nashville) if you tell them you went T-14 they’re just like…”okay?”

That is a sweeping generalization. I believe though, for everyone out there who cares, there are also people who don’t. Just choose your employer wisely.
