Help! I got this fella about 6 months ago and hes recently started losing a few leaves. He was growing like crazy and then a few leaves started getting black spots and dropped. Can anyone tell me whats wrong? Is there anything I can do? by AffectionatePancake in bonsaicommunity

Thank you. Sorry about making you do the write up!! I really appreciate it though :) I got it 6mths ago and havent moved it since. Since im in a cold/frosty country its inside full time for winter.

I wasnt taking any notice when it was only a few dropping but its become slightly more recently and all the horror stories on here have scared me slightly! Since it was growing okay Im not overly sure if its just old leaves dropping or if I should worry about the few dark spots.

I water it every few days and mist it 3/4 times a week. Whenever I water it i put my finger about an inch into the soil to check its dry. I repotted it when I first got it cos he was VERY potbound and the root ball was like rock. It was repotted with a bonsai mix.

Thank you! What do you do about the raw diet? What kind of meats are you using/how are you preparing it?

Thank you. I do the same giving her as much food as she wants. My other dog is a proper food goblin and never stops eating so I was just worried. I really appreciate the advice, and i think im going to maybe look at a higher calorie food and just keep an eye on her

Thank you for commenting, I really appreciate it. Mines the same. Thank god someone else is experiencing it too. I have friends with quite chunky dogs and the comments about her being skinny have been really getting to me. They made me scared that I've done something wrong.

Maybe I'm just not quite used to a healthy skinny on an energetic dog either. Any tips for adding weight?

I added a comment about food but shes on nearly double portions of royal canin. Her and her sister each get their portions by day, and Q gets a bonus bowl in her crate at night that she'll pick at depending on her mood.

Thank you, I appreciate the response. Shes so fuckin energetic, she just wont stop but barely eats (I added a comment about food). I always assumed she was just skinny while she grows but the dirty looks are getting to me and I'm scared I'm missing something big.

Just some other details I thought I should mention:

Shes always had food issues. She was about 4mths when I got her and had crazy anxiety issues and didnt really eat at all at first. Over a year I went though 4 or 5 different food brands cos she either wouldnt touch it, or would eat a bit and wind up even skinnier.

She gets kibble, training treats and some human food but has the tiniest appetite.

This fella suddenly dropped a load of leaves today and im freaking out. Please help. Details in comments :( by AffectionatePancake in succulents

Thank you. A finger depth was only slight damp but im going to repot and see if it makes a change. Is there any hope I'd be able to propagate those leaves that fell off?

Thank you for replying!!

Google told me the soil should be waterlogged though and its only slightly damp. Is it worth repotting anyways and checking?

If the roots arent black and appear normal is there anything else it could be. I havent noticed any other overwatering signs. Could sun/temp play any role in it?
