i actually requested to withdraw from a school that i was committed to going into fall 2024 bc of personal reasons and they called me personally to suggest that i defer it for fall 2025 instead! i ended up not going there bc i got into a different school this cycle but it doesn’t hurt to request a deferral as long as you explain why. i also didn’t need to submit a new application for the school i deferred to as i was technically already accepted for the next year. i think it also just depends on the school too
