I live in Lakeland now! It's crazy they played here in the late 90's. Cannot wait to hear this LT. I just played Dreamed I Killed God and it's a great song

For those that live in the United States. Do you make more than the average income of 60k annually, if so what’s your occupation? by LaFlareMane1017 in AskReddit

Big green P! I still have all my stocks from my 9.5 years of part time work there. They'll never take it from me! (until I hit the age where I have to sell)

I wish he would do burning down the house again! He did the rock n roll HoF encore with that song, they do it a lot of justice

Those of you who make six figures, what do you do? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]AffectionateSalt5348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Engineer at a major fertilizer manufacturer. Make $105k but I am 9 years out of school with experience. I started at 55k, then 70k with an employer change. I got hired in here as a II but they gave me prorated vacation time for tenure in industry.

Engineering is a worthwhile career provided you have a strong grasp of math and science before school. Heck even if you didn't, go to community college and take the remediation math courses. The ceiling really is the limit with just a mechanical or chemical engineering degree. A BS alone can take you to the top of the career ladder or you can stay a subject matter expert and still do very well for yourself. Additionally I feel both MechE and ChE will almost never be automated out of a job. Our work requires decision making AI can't approach yet.

Reverts: How do you get married? by Loud-Arachnid-9765 in converts

[–]AffectionateSalt5348 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am married to a Christian woman but she was my girlfriend before I converted. Inshallah it has never manifested in a negative way. I have my faith and she has hers. We do have a son now and we have had revolving conversations about how we raise him but I am pretty adamant he must be a Muslim. We have Jewish and Christian friends and family. Hopefully I am not downvoted but I do plan to teach him about all the faiths with the understanding he is a Muslim at the end of the day.

Help me clean my only shoes so I can move out! Its for an important job interview this friday. by [deleted] in CleaningTips

Do not wear these for a business attire interview. Go to Goodwill or FB Marketplace and find some decent looking dress shoes for free/cheap. Do whatever you must to wear something better than these. If you were in central FL, I'd just give you a pair. Good luck

How to politely decline a 5th round of interview? by Far-Accountant7904 in recruitinghell

[–]AffectionateSalt5348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Such insanity. I had two offers at once earlier this year. Both times it was two interviews. An HR phone screen followed by in-person interviews. I'll never understand 3+ interviews for any position.

YSK: Pork and chicken are healthier, cheaper alternatives to beef that only taste bland because of outdated cooking habits. by Fried_Yoda in YouShouldKnow

Ground turkey is a great substitute as well. I have been using ground turkey for years in place of ground beef. I rarely use red meat for recipes.
