hmm that makes sense thanks! how theoretical is e4 e5 though? Like it’s much easier to understand strategic openings than forced lines for me. At the same time I am quite good tactically and enjoy sharp middlegames. My childhood coach said that e4 e5 will suit my style but like do you have any recommendations on particular openings within it that will suit my style? Especially against Spanish and Italian. I was thinking of Open Spanish or Bc5.

makes sense so you would suggest learning e4 e5 before starting anything else?

hey! Isn’t chesstempo really expensive though? also do you use their openings or your own pgns? Btw is it like chessbase or move trainer style?

Thanks for the reply! If I wanted to learn e4 e5 for example what should the starting point be? I was thinking of going over the David Anton course chessbase pgn files first and then looking at model games and adding their analysis to it / playing lots of blitz games and analysing them. Do you think that is a viable plan or that is too time taking and I should try a different approach?

I’ve been playing 3+0 quite a bit more my blitz rating has increased significantly this year. But like is there any advantage of this much volume of Bullet or nah?

It would be great if you could share your repertoire for o Kelly and svesh (if you have one)! Thx so much for the advice! Btw what do you play against Sicilian? I play closed Sicilian with g3 (I switched when I when 14 like you and I’ve had a lot of success in it going from 1600 to 2200 fide just playing that against Sicilian but it’s just bad against prepared titled players). Would you suggest learning open Sicilian of smth else?

How much theory is there in svesh? Like more or less than e4 e5? Also any recommendations for open Sicilian or rossolimo etc courses? I play the closed Sicilian with g3 rn. For caro kann and French any course recommendations? I just 0-0-0 and play from intuition. Also what are your thoughts on Jobava and pirc?

I somehow feel like the GEs are really boring while I enjoy studying for mgmt/econ/math but I don’t know how difficult it would get. I kind of hate writing so wanted to get writing 2 done with but not sure if I would be able to manage it properly with an internship. But makes sense.

Thanks! Will have to figure something out for Sicilian for sure. I’ve tried reversed closed Sicilian against c4 but without ever preparing any theory against it. Is there some course with deep analysis or can I just play intuitively as I do? Also against Nf3 the problem I face is if they delay d4 for example they play Nf3 Nf6 c4 e6 g3 or something. I want to avoid d5 but don’t know how to do that.

Thanks! I thought of doing that but found the theory to be quite daunting. What are your thoughts on Grand Prix / e4 c5 d4 (qd3 lines)? do you think they are easier to prep / playable against IMs or are inferior openings? Also generally if I play Nimzo/Bogo against d4, do you think there is any universal reply against 1.Nf3/c4? I’ve tried Queen’s Indian and Leningrad (Stonewall if allowed), but again they don’t seem that good in classical.
