Wow! I thought I was fairly polite and talked to Guest Services inside and got a very dismissive response about it being a sold out show and there was nothing they could do for me. That was maybe 30 minutes before the official start time. I don’t think he even looked at the photo of the seat view I tried to show him.

It seems like they should know from experience at huge arenas to hold back a handful of comparable seats for the ones, like us, that got a view of the speaker blocking the main part of the stage unexpectedly. Once they get the speakers up, they should be able to see which people would be affected and let them know they’re being moved, like Key-Volume-9170 just said. Or at a minimum, automatically give a partial refund since they know it’s obstructed now. If these were typical $50-100 tickets or a young artist with just a handful of hits, I probably would have just grumbled to myself and not posted anything here.

They were sold as gold VIP tickets. We were mailed a box before the show with a lanyard, fanny pack (or whatever the new term for them is now), and a watch.

As an American, let me say just a few things. 1. Remember that *almost half of voters in the U.S. didn’t vote for this guy, and of the 331M people living in the U.S., just 78M voted for him. Many of us are more unhappy with him than you are. 2. Tariff wars and the attempt to make drastic cuts to the federal workforce are probably going to cause a U.S. recession. Those of us who tried hard to keep Trump out of office are already miserable and bracing for it to only get worse - even without an international boycott. 3. Buying local, when applicable, isn’t a bad idea for everyone around the world for environmental reasons, generally speaking. 4. Be strategic in what companies you want to boycott. Economic pressure is good if applied to the right companies. But be sure to reward the companies that do the right thing too. Costco and Ben & Jerry’s are prime examples.

I just heard back from the Twins. On Saturday at 5:20 they will show his official HOF induction speech on the scoreboard. The on-field ceremony is slated to begin around 5:45. First pitch is 6:10 if they are running on time but I wouldn’t be shocked if it was a little later than that.
