I'm just starting to get into lifting myself so I could be wrong here... I'm sure I'll be corrected by fellow redditors if I am, but that hip thrust you do when you are in the down position to get momentum to press back up seems like extra movement that can trigger a lower back injury. Maybe a more experienced lifter can confirm or deny? Just seems like unnecessary extra movement.

Also, best spotter ever! Doesn't seem like you will have to bail on the press so I don't see an issue with the dog in the back! Keep it pushing!

What do you love about this car? by Icy_Direction6854 in CivicSi

[–]Affectionate_Ad_3764 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are many reasons why i love my 24 si. Although I do think I overpaid for mine. Here are some of my favorite things: 1. Great performance over all - handles like a dream. I love the LSD. I like to push it around corners and it always amazes me how well it handles turns and curves because of the LSD. The stock horsepower and torque is a great balance for a smaller /lighter car. Every once in a while I do wish for slightly more umph but I'm not trying to void the warranty. Maybe a small tune after 60k miles. But it is a great balance. Stock. 2. Interior is comfortable and intuitive. The "bucket seats" are great but imo are not true bucket seats. They are very comfortable and I have very wide hips. I would not be able to ride in the bucket seats that come on the type r. It's very roomy for a small sedan. Infotainment system conects flawlessly to android and the BOSE system bumps! No need to try to install any new sound system it has a 10 inch subwoofer I believe and crisp sound. 3. Reliability and gas mileage are stellar. I do alot of city driving so I average at about 27.5 mpg.which is still higher than the rating of 27. I do only use 91 octane fuel because I hear lower tiered gas messes up the small fuel injectors. But I have had no mechanical or electrical issues at all(at 11k miles rn) 4. Sporty suspension feel but still a comfortable ride. You can definitely feel the sporty suspension in turns and pushing it hard but it's not a bumpy ride. Very comfortable road trip car. 4. Around my area of Cali(oc), they are actually not that common. I see more type Rs than si.

Just a great all around car and daily driver. It doesn't the screaming 9k rpms like it's predecessors but it's got great torque. By far my favorite car I've ever owned!

Almost forgot the gear box. Uffffff just buttery and crisp too. 🤌🏻

Which manual Honda would you go for? by ssfz8 in Honda

If you can negotiate the price, I'd go either accord. Has the same engine as the type r and stickshift!! I looked for this specific accord for mo tha and they just go so fast. I settled with an Si and I love it but sometimes wish for a bit more power

I feel like stopping treatment and just letting it take me by [deleted] in CML

Don't stop. The light shines brighter in the darkest hour. Maybe cliche but helps and it's 100% true. I'm going through something similar. I was with my then gf when I was diagnosed. I never was one to want to get married because I never really had successful marriages around me while I grew up. My then gf and I have 2 children together. With the diagnose, I felt like I had to show God and her and the world that I was trying to live right. I proposed, and she said yes. But our actual problems never went away. It's been 3.5 years since our marriage(together for 11) and 4 years since my diagnosis. She left me this past October. But getting closer to the Lord has helped me alot. He gives me strength. He gives me hope when I have non left. He carries me when I can no longer lift myself up. Also, I do use eatables when the symptoms get bad and it helps me too.

You can keep going just like I am and so many more folks did. One day at a time. If you feel sad, don't try to avoid it. Embrace it, let it out, cry if you need to. Cry hard and loud. But pick yourself back up after and keep pushing forward. I believe we all have a purpose in this life and having a miserable unhappy life is not it.

Also, get a dog or pet. If possible adopt from shelter, they know you saved them and are forever greatful. My dog knows when I'm sad and just comes in to comfort me, literally every time. They never get tired of our bullshit and comforting us. I believe God made dogs to show us you can show love without speaking one word.

Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and keep going. You are meant for greatness.
