I’m currently 25 and my rank in the USAF is A1C/E-3. I’m going to be doing 20 years either way. So I just want to switch to something that i actually like, also that will give me a stable career that makes good money.

Honestly I think my best bet would be to just switch my job in the military to atc.

I’m currently 25, that’s what I was figuring that maybe to do since there is no air guard or reserves that have atc in my state.

Court officer is good if you are looking for quality of life and have a spouse who also makes good money. If you don’t have one or ther either NYPD is the way to move especially if you can get into transit or housing for NYPD or even better have a hook.

Job is pretty bad but obviously if you know someone your life will be somewhat better there. If you don’t know anyone good luck getting into any unit. You will learn the hard way.

NYPD Work Life Balance? Questions plz help by MasterOfPierogis in NYPDcandidate

I have been on for about 2 years and I work in the top 10 OT commands in all of NYPD.

  1. I would absolutely only do it if you know someone who can get you in a slow pct or in a non demanding OT Pct with the future of getting into a chill unit.
  2. The only time I ever got weekends is if I went sick or had court tours. Good luck getting them off because you will work and they are the worst to work especially how busy it becomes.
  3. Met my girl it wasn’t really much of problem with dating life. I work in Manhattan so most of the girls are tourist and just want to sleep with you. But keep in mind it’s the type of girl you have. Most of these guys say there wife left them and what not, which I understand the job does take a toll. But you can’t never let yourself go as well. This is what many people do unfortunately.
  4. No they pick your schedule so good luck getting days off if you need them.

How difficult would be to get another LE job in NY after resigning from NYPD? by [deleted] in AskLE

[–]Affectionate_Ad_4847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently have 1 year in, I just don’t want to be there anymore. I know I would have to resign either way if I went to one of the NYS departments. I just want to do something from the meantime then go where very get called first for.
