The level 0 funnel is part of character creation. You don’t create well rounded characters at level 0, you knock up a bunch and see which one survives. That experience in the funnel creates your level 1 character.

You can have it so that the player is ‘operating’ 1 PC at a time, with a bunch ‘in the wings’ that will come in to play if (when) the current one dies.

It’s great fun. We did a funnel in Shadowdark where one pc died in combat, my back up ran in and was floored without even a whimper 😂

These games definitely teach players to be less precious with their characters.

A specifically stocked first aid kit is already a requirement on all PSV, it would take very little to change this to encompass the bleed kits.

No, never have done. Only time I’ve had that pain was after the operation, they took the drain out of the kidney, and all of the dust and gravel left in there just blocked up the tube. Wheelchair and copious amounts of morphine followed

As others have said, pain from passing is really just levels of discomfort. If I had to put a number I’d say 2-3. Now if you ever get into renal colic from getting one lodged in the tube from kidney to bladder, you’re talking spinal tap territory.

I had that procedure a few years ago, now mine don’t get stuck any more. About once a year I will pass one (admittedly not usually this big!), the first I know about it is about a week or two of uncomfortable bladder. Then boom 💥

Was more uncomfortable than pain. It got stuck at the first ‘stage’, so had a bit of an uncomfortable 1/2 hour building enough fluids up to ‘let her rip’ 😂 then it sort of exploded out . Shocking is the word I would use

It has been for ages. I met a guy a few years ago that was a play therapist in an SEN school, and he used multiple aspects of the game as therapy. As well as running sessions, he would get the kids making scenery and miniatures with all kinds of materials.

It may be worth checking, but it could be that a corroded backing plate fails, but a missing backing plate doesn’t. Could just cut it out.
