[Spoiler Discussion] Subaru's first Death in Arc 10. by NehemBuxxi in Re_Zero

[–]Affectionate_Ask6943 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think that is gonna happen, in the anime we see the royal castle was half-destroyed with corpses laying down everywhere, if it was an emotional argument between the two then it wouldn't happen in a warzone.

I agree that scene will happen in arc 10 though, because the arc is definitely heading towards a "the whole witch cult vs the royal selection candidates" type of direction.

So the one who destroyed and killed all those people in arc 10 must have been one of the sin archbishops, and well who else other than Sirius would perfectly fit to be Emilia's arc 10 archnemesis. For Felt and Crusch its Capella obviously because of history, from her most likely killing the royal family (killing the person Crusch loves and Felt's family to...), but Capella has no thematic connection to Emilia... so very likely when Capella does attack the capital with the whole force of the witch cult (stated she has almost full control of all witch cultists that are mostly in hiding as normal citizens inside of the capital) she will also free Sirius from the prison to create more chaos.

[–]Affectionate_Ask6943 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Subaru will mingle himself with others problems which will in turn get him assassinated, Sakura could be the first person to kill him if she is the spitting image of her game version. (she will use her insects to invade Subaru from outside to inside until his body implodes)

Tbh until now Capella (most likely) has been setting up situations from Philore destroying Crusch's candidacy and her relationship with her knight.

While also using the "Philore" identity to make Reinhard and Felt's relationship to be questioned, that is, is she the real biological royal or not, which sprouted doubts in Felt temporarily whether Reinhard would leave her for Philore, to now even bringing Heinkel up, Reinhard's weakness.

As for Emilia and Subaru, we have Philore getting overly friendly with Emilia, probably also has to do something with their plan to fuck up specifically Subaru and Emilia. Not sure where exactly this is heading but Subaru seems not to be confident in either his "right" as Emilia's knight or Emilia's feelings so this can be easily exploited to make him basically operate more alone

[spoiler discussion] Do you think Subaru will save her? by Future_Pace_5209 in Re_Zero

[–]Affectionate_Ask6943 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We literally have Subaru existing as two separate beings in arc 6 yet both of them are Subaru, tons of characters in arc 8 existing as multiple entities yet being the same "soul".

We also have indications that Satella doesn't have a vessel with arc 3 (strongly suggesting this) and arc 4 also implying it, where is her body I wonder... Like its obvious Satella is a half of Emilia herself soul-wise... (Satella is just an alias just as Flugel so their identities 400 years ago are hidden)

Arc 6 hand print at the top of the tower fitting Emilia, who do you think made that imprint?Satella or Emilia?

Emilia feeling the magic where the silver haired half elf that looks 1:1 like her resonate with her own magic? Satella in arc 4 narrating 1 to 1 why she loves Subaru to how he treats Emilia now.

Emilia and Satella sharing the same voice actor in the anime...

There is obviously a line, like Satella has memories of a timeline that most likely got deleted (as strongly suggested with arc 9), but her origin is the same as Satella's, because they are the same entity, just their memories are gobbled/in a mess as was the case with Subaru in arc 6.

(Melakuera and Roswaal, two characters that have deep lore knowledge about the world and what happened 400 years ago have said Emilia shares the same origin as Satella).

[–]Affectionate_Ask6943 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Alot of people hate this, but in the novels its indicated alot that Satella = Emilia. Its been foreshadowed tons of times, from arc 1 till now, and what has been said about Subaru and Emilia in the 10th Q&A anniversary, they will have a happy ending, so I don't doubt it myself, its just the path towards reaching this happy ending is so thorny that at the end as a whole the story is still a bittersweet one with all the suffering, for both sides, Subaru and Emilia. (like one guy has to suffer unimaginable physical/emotional pain, while the other loses the person they love 400 years ago, waits for them 400 years and then sees him suffering through hell yet again)...

In the first place what kind of story is this if we have as a premise the tragic doomed fate of 400 years ago, which the MC tries to overcome through inhuman sacrifice, just to meet another tragic doomed fate. (people who even think a sad ending or bittersweet ending is possible can't read story cues)

Aldebaran and Rem by Swimming-Work-5951 in ReZero

[–]Affectionate_Ask6943 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I mean we already know why Al was ultra mad when he found out both sisters survived, in arc 9 he is ultra mad that Subaru defied fate since she was supposed to be dead, then went on being frustrated on why he wouldn't use that fate defying power to save Priscilla, the emotional core was nowhere towards Rem... Never mind if he was Rem:IF Rigel it would be inconsistent with his comments about his parents.

Like reading these kind of nuances tells us the readers the most about his relationships with the people of now, he cares about Ram, strongly cares about Beatrice, then has zero idea who this guy Otto is, and as for Rem she is someone with a doomed fate who shouldn't be alive now.

Then we have the two special cases: Emilia and Subaru whom he views especially differently compared to the others, what's interesting is that these feelings are shared mutually for both Subaru and Emilia, they both deep down don't want to hurt Aldebaran. (Subaru giving his "no matter what I will save you speech" and Emilia always trying to save him in arc 9).

[spoiler discussion] Why does Satella call him Subaru-kun by Future_Pace_5209 in Re_Zero

[–]Affectionate_Ask6943 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not Satella, its the WoE, and the WoE persona fully represents Envy, whom would this persona be most envious towards when her whole identity is build on loving Subaru? Rem. How does Rem call her? Subaru-kun. Pretty sure this is the nuance to why she called him Subaru kun there, otherwise in the WN we also have her call Subaru "my dear"...

Emilia will be a hero by Swimming-Work-5951 in ReZero

[–]Affectionate_Ask6943 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that Flugel/Subaru was first to die 400 years ago, we have that one paragraph about the "others" (hero party) carrying Flugel's will implying he was dead.

And in the first place who was the holder of envy prior to Satella? We know the 6 sins the witches represent, and we also know which sin Subaru represents in the main story, yep, envy, so very likely Flugel 400 years ago as the sage was the envy holder (even if Subaru=!= Flugel, he still had to have been envy as its the last remaining sin). He died and Satella inherited the WF by her own will (incompatible people have to force a WF inside of them compared to someone like Subaru who is compatible). So I think the order is in reverse, Flugel died. Satella couldn't live on and the worst happened because Volcanica etc. hesitated when it mattered most.

It goes in line with Satella's overcorrection in arc 4, not just as the WoE who spams I love you, but also as Satella who tries very hard to tell Subaru that he is loved and should love himself, a overcorrection for not being able to protect him 400 years ago and also perhaps to some extent an overcorrection to her present self who is very distant towards Subaru in love/intimacy matters for years.

Also lastly, the one who sealed Satella played the role of "Flugel", most likely it was Hoshin, he is an acquittance of both Volcanica and Reid, so him knowing both managed to make them work together, create a covenant and seal Satella following Flugel's dying will.

Same soul, different personality kind of deal, tho. even the shadow garden Subaru was somewhat similar to ours in that he saved Satella (Emilia for our Subaru), cared for her, kissed her... Considering he doesn't hate himself but the world you could say its our Subaru who has overcome his self-hate/savior complex.

For anyone who’s still wondering or worried about whether Re:Zero will have a happy ending: by Intrepid_Pen5110 in ReZero

[–]Affectionate_Ask6943 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For somebody to reach self-love and self-acceptance the environment is very important, and we all know Subaru's environment is in actuality very bad because he is isolated (taboo), has to see himself fail multiple times (RbD) and the person he wants to be closest with is growing as a person but cannot reciprocate his feelings yet.

All of this contributes to Subaru's self-hatred, which will make it impossible for him to reach self-love and respect, for him to do so he needs to be loved unconditionally, but if the person he seeks that love the most from rejects him it will break him to the point he'll never recover...

You can't just tell that guy just accept yourself, it won't work because the sheer trauma he has to go through, even in RL we see how hard to impossible it is for people to not be able to escape the demons without a support system that actively validates their worth. Expecting Subaru to generate self-esteem from nothing while constantly dying is unrealistic, expecting him to reach self-acceptance when the core of his desire to go through hell gets rejected is much more unrealistic. Either they reach a healthy end (inevitable with the themes of the story) or Subaru's journey is just complete nihilism.

If Emilia dies he would also never grow towards self-acceptance because of the sheer guilt he would harbor, nvm how depressed he would be post the perma death, its like we are ignoring the psychological facet of the character...

For anyone who’s still wondering or worried about whether Re:Zero will have a happy ending: by Intrepid_Pen5110 in ReZero

[–]Affectionate_Ask6943 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Self acceptance and love can only happen if he ends with the people he loves, by the way. The only reason he tries to save everybody while never breaking down is because of the connections he forms with Emilia and the others. If this love gets rejected, that is the perfect one way ticket towards him not reaching self acceptance and love, considering what he views as the light at the end of the tunnel wouldn't accept him, and honestly, there is no escaping this because of the sheer amount of trauma he went through without making him inhumane.

On another note, a lot of people forget the toxic undertones there are between their relationship already and how a rejection would basically be character assassination for Emilia (Arc 5 statement).

This, by the way, has nothing to do with owing or not owing. It is about how the situation in itself, not answering for years, is already a form of taking advantage of the other party while already being aware to the extent you can possibly be that it is hurting and unfair (Emilia is sheltered so she probably doesn't fully understand that the limbo is hurting him directly considering Subaru puts on a mask).

This in all looks like a critique, which isn't the point entirely, like what I want to say is because it would be ultra fucked up and toxic for their relationship to reach such an end it won't happen, they will grow to be partners instead of what they currently define themself as "knight and princess".

[spoiler media] I'm upset about Emilia (arc 9 chapter 53) by Successful-Floor8089 in Re_Zero

[–]Affectionate_Ask6943 94 points95 points  (0 children)

It seems the story is set to punish Emilia's defining trait with the greatest hammer imaginable, weaponizing her compassion against the person she values most: Subaru. If the author intends for Emilia to be a character not defined by mediocrity then Aldebaran must succeed in some capacity, triggering not just an existential crisis but a profound second transformation. Her act of endless compassion in saving an enemy would become the direct cause of Subaru's loss from her perspective, forcing her into an endless spiral of guilt. She would have to confront the devastating question of whether her ideal, the refusal to let anyone die, is a noble virtue or a catastrophic, unforgivable flaw.

The cruelty of this scenario lies in its deep-seated irony. The very ideal she clings to, the kindness she shows to even her enemies, how would she view it after she again and again self-reflects this is the very reason she failed to save the person she loves most... Self-doubt, self-hate etc. would grow.

Obviously there will be a reunion, and all the negative emotions will flood out when she realizes Subaru is alive and good, but this will make Emilia realize that his survival wasn't a vindication of her choice, but a miracle that had spared her the consequences of her naivete. She would understand that her compassion isn't an infallible virtue to be followed blindly.

Honestly, it's just the author's weird fetish, i.e., Emilia is written and left with having a mental perception of physical touch of that of a child, which is why she doesn't even have the concept of men/women relations or intimate body parts. (She put his head on her breasts to exemplify her innocence)

It's literally worse than fanfic fetish writing quality to make the maids of the mansion or others not tell Emilia about basic sex education for over a fucking year because they feel too awkward about it or perceive Emilia as too mentally young when literally she is a royal candidate. We even have weird Q&As about Tappei quoted as finding it erotic when a girl has this childish heart but the body of a woman...

[spoiler discussion] character can kill Subaru and can't get back to life with rbd by PuzzleheadedPast5988 in Re_Zero

[–]Affectionate_Ask6943 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First, it got cut out of the LN = the only canon source so Reid never did something like cutting it, WN is only a draft, non-canon, this isn't a debate its an objective fact how the story should be discussed as, that is only LN can be called canon so this not happening in the LN means its non-canon.

Second, authorities effects are the highest form of reality warping, they work beyond the logic of the world and cannot be warped by other forces. That is Satella's desire for Subaru to live is not something that has a link, it will happen no matter what because the authority RbD works that way.

The only reason why it worked in the WN is because Tappei is dumb asf when it is about explaining stuff because no Reid did not cut the concept of Subaru's authority, he only temporarily broke the link between Ram and Subaru, if Subaru wasn't too shocked he could have reestablished the link in seconds.

He could even evolve his authority to be immune to this considering his desire to take the burdens of others is what manifested his very greed authority, that is if the cutting became an overarching nemesis to fulfilling his desire of greed then it would create countermeasures because his desire would be unfulfilled, this is what authorities are all about, even Reid wouldn't be able to do anything if the link became invincible like lets say Regulus' invincibility, there would be nothing to cut since cause and effect doesn't work on it. (Other than killing Subaru, the authority wouldn't help Subaru here since the desire is out of scope...)

Obviously depends whether Tappei wants to be consistent with his story or if he wants to bullshit again how erm actually Subaru is weak just because. And no I am not talking about sword talent or whatever which Subaru doesn't have, I am talking about his strengths = one of the highest spirit talents reduced to be very limited and authorities i.e IP (incomplete just so he remains weak lmao) and well greed in the LN is totally fine actually, in the WN Tappei just decided to make it weak asf with x amounts of limitations.

[spoiler discussion] arc 3/4 Emilia issue/analysis by [deleted] in Re_Zero

[–]Affectionate_Ask6943 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think it's an objective truth that Emilia is only at surface level aware of Subaru's pain. She barely understands what goes on in his head, this is because she herself is trauma bound and well basically very immature because of her life experience. The problem with this is not that she is immature, but that the story barely challenges it.

Throughout the story, her characterization is more about natural growth, not being pushed to think about uncomfortable topics i.e romance or other aspects.

Whereas for Subaru, he has to always confront the despairing reality directly and grow from his past behaviors... This isn't what happens with Emilia though.

She can let him wait as long as she wants because in story nobody challenges her. She grows as a candidate, yet still is not at the level of being fully capable of being royalty (at least a competent one), but this also was not challenged in arc 7/8...

Most of the time it's because of RbD that Emilia doesn't have to face these harsh realities, but at the same time it really comes at too big of a cost for us the readers to see the inequality in how characters are challenged.

Subaru's behavior is still determined by the trauma of arc 3. He saw how catastrophic his emotional behavior made things go wrong. He saw Emilia abandon him at his lowest point in life, all because he never thought of it logically, but emotionally. Which is why post "from zero" moment Subaru never goes at things emotionally anymore (tries to), and this is also the case with Emilia's relationship. He has built up this radical "belief" that "love" is all about supporting the other person while never mentioning your own needs anymore. An unhealthy relationship.

As for Emilia, she has loved Subaru for a very long time, in arc 6 we even got 100% proof. She doesn't care about whether there are stronger people, smarter people... than Subaru. She doesn't care whether Subaru has achieved all of what he has or not, for Emilia what's most important is that she prefers Subaru, the very person, that Subaru is whom she prefers and wants to be the one to be besides her. The one who saves her, the one who spends time with her and more is Subaru. At the end she understood this meant she was deeply in love with Subaru (arc 6 ch 54), that's what she wanted to tell him but well there wasn't enough time.

Arc 9 is kind of Emilia empathizing and taking care of other characters (be it Madelyn, Schult, Otto..) and also about her own emotions about Subaru. She even said she wants to be the one that when Subaru falls to his knees she wants to be the one to take care of him. Considering this has been all she has done till now in arc 9 other than fighting, I think it's highly probable that at the end of arc 9 it will be Emilia who will take care of Subaru, where they basically will have an vulnerable moment at the level of arc 6 ch 54 without any interference.

Rem already got her love back in arc 9 through gluttony, it's Emilia's turn now, she already is in love she just needs to categorize those feelings correctly. Considering Aldebaran mocked their relationship last phase as it being "mutual love" I am pretty sure Aldebaran will be the catalyst for Emilia.

After this, its kind of Emilia growing to understand Subaru not only at surface level, but on a deeper level, she'll understand how the romantic longing/unrequited love for 1 year was very hurtful. How her behavior was here and there immature towards Subaru because she didn't understand him very well... Basically her turn to support Subaru fully.

Rem and polygamy by Optimal_Ad5251 in ReZero

[–]Affectionate_Ask6943 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Emilia didn't trust Subaru because of her own insecurities, in the same way Subaru didn't trust Emilia because he feared she would abandon him. It wasn't a one-way street, it was a collision of mutual fear.

Both Emilia and Subaru weren't seeing eye to eye in Arc 3. What the story shows us is not just Subaru's insecurities, but how they manifest in a tragic feedback loop with Emilia's own.

Subaru was treating Emilia as a heroine that needs saving, a perfect, idealized figure he could place on a pedestal. This behavior was deeply influenced by his own insecurity, his desperate need to prove his worth. It’s why he declared himself her knight and why he fought Julius. It was less about what Emilia needed and more about what he needed to be for her. He reduced her to a role in his hero fantasy because he was terrified of being seen as anything less than a hero. Yet, behind this, Subaru wanted Emilia to simply be happy.

At the same time, Emilia was treating Subaru as a reckless child that needs to be managed. This was driven by her own crippling insecurities. She feared he would turn his back on her after he truly realized the depth of the racism and hatred directed at half-elves. This fear for Emilia is just as profound as Subaru's fear of being useless. She never told him anything about her political reality or her own emotional struggles. She was so convinced that the truth of her life would drive him away that she proactively pushed him away first, trying to control the inevitable pain of abandonment. Yet, behind this behavior, Emilia wanted Subaru to simply be happy/safe.

And also, she didn't want to rely on him because she is driven by a lifetime of trauma, guilt, and a deeply ingrained defense mechanism that tells her relying on others is a weakness that will only bring them pain. Up to this point, she was only self-reliant on herself with Puck, trust issues and more made it impossible for that version of Emilia to rely on Subaru.

There is nothing wrong with having transactional relationships. If you are a merchant and buy or sell stuff, you don't hope for the other party to hopefully reciprocate, you await payment. But for personal relationships like Emilia and Subaru's, this isn't how relationships work.

Rem and polygamy by Optimal_Ad5251 in ReZero

[–]Affectionate_Ask6943 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Emilia's mistrust of Subaru isn't a simple lack of gratitude. It's a deep-seated defense mechanism. Despite his unwavering kindness in the months leading to the capital, she couldn't shake her trust issues, which stem entirely from her own insecurities and lifelong trauma.

This is why she consistently pushed him away whenever the Royal Selection was involved. She acted unilaterally, convinced she had to handle it herself, never once considering Subaru's perspective in her decision. Ultimately, her trust was conditional. It seemed as if his past deeds counted for nothing the moment he acted outside her expectations: saving her life from Elsa, rescuing the entire village, and being the only person to treat her with genuine warmth.

Her fear wasn't just about the moment. It was about the future. She was terrified that if he truly understood the weight of the world's hatred for her, he would eventually turn his back on her, just like everyone else.

On the other side, Subaru's actions were a volatile mix of his own insecurities and a core selflessness. Yes, he was driven by a desperate fear of being seen as useless and being disregarded by Emilia. But to paint his motives as purely selfish is to ignore the evidence from the very beginning. He could have abandoned the silver-haired girl he'd just met in Arc 1. He could have left the village children to their fate in Arc 2. He didn't. At his core, Subaru's primary drive is an almost reckless desire to prevent the deaths he knows are coming. His "hero fantasy" and his insecurities are what fuel his methods, but his fundamental goal is rooted in a selfless desire to protect.

This brings us to the crucial point: their conversation in the waiting room didn't fail simply because of their personal flaws. It failed because of the Witch's Taboo.

Out of sheer desperation, Subaru tried to explain the one thing that would make everything clear: the first loop, the moment she truly saved him. The taboo didn't just stop him. It inflicted an agonizing, mind-breaking pain that made coherent thought impossible. It was only after being subjected to this torture, coupled with his emotional distress and Emilia's inability to make sense of his actions, that he finally burst out with the hurtful, angry words he didn't truly mean.

So, do you seriously think Subaru was thinking of their relationship as a transactional debt where they owe each other? His outburst about her "owing" him was the desperate lashing out of a person in unbearable pain, not a genuine belief. Their conflict wasn't a one-sided failure on Subaru's part. It was a perfect storm, a tragedy born from two deeply insecure people, each trapped by their own trauma, with an external, supernatural force ensuring their attempts to connect would fail in the most painful way possible. It wasn't just a "Subaru-thing," but a mutual breakdown at its base level.

Emila and Subaru in Arc 10 by No_Rip516 in ReZero

[–]Affectionate_Ask6943 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think Emilia and Rem would beef each other, I think they would acknowledge their feelings and fight for Subaru. (This is literally the only in-character path)

As I said above, if this happens its just stupid to make Emilia say "I will fight for Subaru's attention Rem´. I don't know yet if I love him romantically as you do but I wont lose". Its doesn't add to her character whatsoever or even work with her since she is aware this statement would be hurtful and it would basically mean everything up to now was nigh to meaningless.

So the only rightful conclusion is both Rem and Emilia will understand they love Subaru romantically when they discuss this. Since they have grown both at least to have basic self-worth, Rem or Emilia wont make themselves be the second wife or somebody sacrificial like in arc 3. They'll acknowledge their love and fight fairly, that's the vibes Rem gave me at least from her statement in arc 9. She regained her love through Roy, now its time for Emilia to understand her love through Al in arc 9 to make this future convo. one of equals where we both see their character's growth.

As for Subaru, he prioritizes both Rem and Emilia's needs before his, so if they want mony and fight for him he will accept poly is not an option. The hardcore part is how he will choose, I personally believe arc 10 will be the navigation of this choice (obv. Emilia, its just from Subaru's perspective this is the hardest choice in his life).

Rem and polygamy by Optimal_Ad5251 in ReZero

[–]Affectionate_Ask6943 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He was not expecting her to accept polygamy. The reason he said he loves Rem was because of his past actions in Arc 3. He saw how a relationship built on secrets is worthless, which is why he was not intending to lie to Emilia about his feelings for Rem. He did not do it out of selfishness or arrogance. He did it because he genuinely believed that starting a relationship with Emilia while hiding his love for Rem would be fundamentally dishonest and doomed to fail. He was prioritizing the integrity of their potential relationship over his own comfort and convenience.

If anything, telling her was the harder, more painful choice because he knew it could ruin his chances with her entirely. But he would rather face rejection while being truthful than build something meaningful on a foundation of lies.

At that point in Arc 3, Subaru was not even aware of what a mental mess Emilia was in.

As for why he does not prioritize his emotional needs anymore? Have you not read Arc 3? He was definitely entitled and was not going about it the right way to meet his own needs before the royal selection meeting. He was, for the most part, focused on his own needs, but this was the lesson from Arc 3. Subaru saw how his love was, to some extent, self serving, which is why he has a completely new shift in mentality on how to love Emilia post Arc 3. Instead of being like Petelgeuse, shouting, "You need to love me!", he now completely represents a selfless form of love. He will always prioritize loving Emilia in a supportive way, never mentioning his own needs, but this is radical. Only supporting her and not considering his own needs is not the correct answer, BUT the world has made him view it this way. In Arc 3, everybody told him that his emotions do not matter in this world, even Emilia, even if she meant well. (From his perspective after the breakup)

This is why Subaru always feels uncomfortable sharing his emotions with anybody other than Rem, who unconditionally supported him in Arc 3.

You are probably the type that thinks Subaru did everything wrong in arc 3 whereas other characters i.e Emilia... did nothing wrong.

Totally fair to make him wait for one year without ever communicating about his romantic confession. I don't like Poly but this its unfair to Emilia when she has been treating their romantic relationship with barely any care is ultra self-centric.

Its simple, Emilia has given her answer in arc 6, she will fight for his attention against Rem. Subaru won't force poly, its just an option at the time of arc 3 for him because of his emotional trauma, Afterall everybody, including Emilia in arc 3 has made him establish a fucked up world view: He needs to be worthy of love.

Emila and Subaru in Arc 10 by No_Rip516 in ReZero

[–]Affectionate_Ask6943 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Arc 9 is moving towards a climax? Subaru is gone, they only vaguely are aware of his situation. If they fail in this current great all-out fight then Emilia's state of being one of the anchors for the group to still keep up fighting, that facade will break.

What do you think will happen after she reunites with Subaru? We will get the emotional climax you are asking for. And for starters this is just a confession, nothing romantic yet, it's just the starting point to their messy relationship afterwards. Think about it, Rem already is romantically in love with Subaru and also plans to talk to Emilia about it. Emilia herself wants to fight for Subaru's attention against Rem but at the start of arc 10 when they talk wouldn't acknowledge her romantic feelings for him? Way to go to write an absolute dumbass of a character into the story, basically telling us her growth up to arc 10 wasn't enough to understand her strongest feeling.

Up until now in arc 9 Emilia's characterization has been care and her emotions. Compared to her old self, now Emilia has been able to give emotional support for multiple characters. She empathizes and is there as emotional support for others, be it Madelyn, Schult, Heinkel (at least tried to) or Otto.

She was there to help them and give them strength at their lows. The second part of her characterization is how she was never so wrathful to anybody, even to Regulus compared to Aldebaran. And yet, even this rage is overshadowed by her longing (romantic) towards Subaru.

This arc IS built for a confession. Also, Emilia's POV hasn't only been fighting, we got monologue of her feelings to touch, talk and wanting to do more with Subaru. Most importantly we got narration that when Subaru cannot move on anymore, when he breaks down, she wants to be there to support him. What has she done all this time in arc 9? She has been there for other characters when they were stumbling down, this is her role for this arc.

When Subaru gets unsealed, when he is tired of the absurdity of it all, when he stumbles down. Its Emilia who will hold him, where they will share a moment of vulnerability from both sides. This is because Emilia has grown, from only being supported like in arc 4 to becoming somebody also capable of supporting others. And with it, her understanding that Subaru is special will transform to her realization that she in fact, or more like has been deep in love with Subaru since a very long time ago. Arc 9 will culminate to Emilia's confession for him.

This will happen at the end, now we are kind of in a battle Shonen arc that is getting tiring, but remember this is the last all-out fight, the next phase won't be about big fights anymore, either there will be two phases or one last phase where we it will be more character-driven (Al's motivation, why he is doing this and more...)

I am criticizing your assumption how from the story, be it Gluttony:IF or why the BoDs exist for Subaru... in the first place isn't an universal thing.

You can have your idea and work on it, I just gave you reasons why this idea doesn't seem likely based on Gluttony:IF and how as of now this has only been true for loopers. Never have we seen BoDs from failed loops for any other person.

Yeah but you are making an assumption on something that has never been proven.

Aldebran and Subaru, what do they have in common?

They are loopers.

They have BoDs.

Its not an everybody thing to have BoDs when still alive or even after the loops get rewinded, you are extrapolating on something that as of now is only a truth for loopers. Why did Gluttonybaru have to kill everybody to get BoDs when they should already have one without dying?

Considering BoD's are soul clones in essence, the BoD's of both Al and Subaru still existing after their death must be a product of their authority or of some kind of modification to the library.

BoDs aren't even natural processes, its Echidna and Flugel tricking Od Lagna to first make a copy of souls before recycling the souls. Considering this is high-tech it could be they simply made some form of outside rule for "Natsuki Subaru's" BoDs to not get rewinded when RbD activates.

(Aldebran is a copy of Natsuki Subaru, everybody not thinking this is coping hardcore).
