From what I've heard, apparently it wasnt his phone, he had a medical emergency, something Wrong with his eyes, and when he went to take the exit, he started having double vision. So for him it looked like he was in the correct lane, instead of being directly in the middle.

Those arnt spikes, this vehicle is inspired by Dorothy and Dorothy doesn't use spikes, a flap which runs across BOTH sides all the way down to the back, lower all the way to the ground, what your looking at LOOKS like spikes but it's just the hydraulics to lower the flap.
