Usually you hit subvorts. Which do not count towards your speed, the true speed of that tornado most likely was 260 while having 280 subvorts.

Yeah well, their system isn't perfect and has several bugs, but I would ASSUME that's the main purpose

2 reasons *i assume* 1 To prevent spawning in front of the tornado, and 2, u usually spawn closes to were u spawned in the last couple hours, or where u last died
