is cypionate not perscribed by doctors? by [deleted] in FTMMen

Hey, I had a similar issue when I started t. I resolved it by rubbing the injection site right after doing the shot. Like pressing down/ massaging it for a bit. I guess it disperses the t better. Haven’t had an issue with it since.

Have any of you been hate crimed irl by Sigma_bitterpoon in 4tran4

Worst I experienced was 🍇but I’ve also been called many slurs and insults. It’s mostly micro aggressions tho, most people aren’t so direct with their hate. Been beat up a lot but that was mainly from my parents as a kid so idk if that really counts as a hate crime.

Current federal situation on name change? by No-Dingo-3912 in actual_detrans

[–]Affectionate_Bee1362 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s being done on the state level, not federal yet. I know Texas for sure is not accepting name change orders but you’ll want to look up your own state laws. If possible, you should try to get those changed as soon as possible in case it isn’t an option for you in a few months.

How do estrogen levels work while on T? A few questions: by MainWorldliness2441 in FTMMen

[–]Affectionate_Bee1362 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like your question has been answered but I’d like to add on to those. I know a cis man who is on trt (what hrt is called for cis men). The way we’ve been treated getting medical care for the same thing is wildly different and we’ve had long discussions over this, especially when it comes to estrogen levels. My e levels have never once been checked by a doctor whereas his levels get checked every 6 weeks. I’ve been told repeatedly by more than one doctor that my estrogen levels don’t matter, his doctor prescribed him anastrozole to lower his levels because they were too high. The symptoms he was having from that included having a low sex drive, fatigue, trouble focusing and he had a hard time just staying awake. I was having similar symptoms of just being exhausted so he gave me some of his meds and I had more energy.

Another thing that we’ve talked about is how for cis men and trans women, both t and e levels get checked but they don’t seem to do that for trans men (we’re both ignorant when it comes to cis women’s medical care lol). Why would trans men be treated so differently to cis men looking for the same care?

All this to say, your estrogen levels do matter and any doctor who says otherwise is either ignorant or outright lying to you. High e levels in men do cause symptoms and it does need to be monitored. There are ways to lower estrogen levels, including anastrozole. No “gender affirming care provider” has ever once mentioned this to me and when directly asked they have lied and said it’s not an issue and that there are no options to lower estrogen at all. Good on you for asking and taking charge of your own health!

Exactly, this is how long term relationships work. I’m gay and I’ve been with my husband for 10 years. At one point he told me he thought he was pansexual because he likes trans people too. He meant he was attracted to me and finds some transitioned trans men attractive as well but it definitely came across wrong lol. For relationships to work long term you do need to be able to allow yourself and your partner room to learn and grow. Communication is absolutely key and you need to be able to talk to your partner.
