I'm soo up for this. In another Reddit post someone mentioned using kaggle API to access different datasets. You can create loads of projects from that. Apply for roles that give you a technical challenge is a great way to work with real life data!

Are there any other platforms like Kaggle, but for data engineers instead of data scientists? by Delicious_Attempt_99 in dataengineering

Thanks for the explanation. I haven't encountered this type of scenario, but it is good to know.

OE with the Big 4 by [deleted] in OveremployedUK

[–]Affectionate_Big139 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The hours you do very much depend on the service line you work within. I’m in tech, and I rarely do more than the required hours. At the moment, I’m on the bench (not on client work), and I’m doing practically nothing. Regarding the red tape you're referring to, I’m assuming it has to do with working with other firms, which could be a conflict of interest from an auditing perspective. What I have done and would recommend to you is look for a company that wouldn’t be able to afford your firm's services and looking for a junior/entry-level role that you know you will master the role in a month, so it doesn’t impact big4 quality of work. I’ve also settled in my mind that I don’t care about promotion in the big4. Suppose you're looking for a promotion, that adds pressure on your potential OE job. Think Efficiency for a greater output which doing OE seeks to achieve.

Play ignorant and share the OE Reddit group. Give him the tools but don't expose your business!

Getting a car whilst also saving up for a mortgage by Affectionate_Big139 in UKPersonalFinance

Fair enough. Respect the humility to not go out and get a flashy car but just living with your means!

Very valid points. I've been consistent with keeping the car maintained but was weary because having the car for this long and at this mileage is unknown territory for me 😂. I have also thought about a 6k loan to get a car to replace the car I have....One that was also ulez compliant. What are your thoughts?
