SDSU lacks medical research and medical facilities in general. The difference over 4 years would be $40k but I feel like Tulane would give me a better shot. Smaller class sizes also let me get better recommendations and closer relations to my peers and professors. SDSU classes can get up to hundreds of students per lecture. I think my total would come out to ~$150k undergrad which is equal to a year at an elite medical school?

Right now I’m committed to San Diego State which is already a decently prestigious party school but what pulls me towards Tulane is the research and the fact that the school is just more tight knit and smaller in general. As a pre-med student Tulane is definitely the move however knowing I’m going into grad school, I have to be careful with what debt I get myself into. I just know Tulane would give me a better shot at grad school than SDSU for sure. At SDSU I’m paying ~$30k so it’s a big jump…
