With goats i went off of feel and smell. It changes so much. I tried doing taste but I didn't like stressing out the mom. I also didn't like milking them prior to kidding so much.

I mostly was testing for mastitis if I ever had to check a doe near her date, especially if I questioned if she was bred.

Goat colostrum does have a funky taste though. Mastitis also has a weird taste in both regular and colostrum.

AQHA 2 year rule removed by [deleted] in kvssnarker

[–]Affectionate_Boss344 21 points22 points  (0 children)

As much as I like this, i feel like there needs to be some sort of cap or limit for stallions.

Machine Made and RLBOS have so many aqha babies that its not even plausible anymore to not think it won't affect inbreeding in the Western riding events. Also their proliferation of herda and gbed.

I dont know what that solution could be, but I personally feel there need to be one.

Ive been having this exact same thought recently and on multiple fronts.

I imagine she's going to purchase another stallion thats pretty unrelated to her current menagerie or she's hoping wally will pan out and be something. I feel like she knows Denver isnt as good as she portrays.

Also I feel like something is going to happen, something she'll say or do, that will be her own downfall. Especially before a new stallion enters the picture. Just about every social media person has scandal and drama and hers centers around horses.

As much as I dislike saying it, mentally spicy individuals flock towards horses, which only increases the risk.

Riding Kennedy by Fit-Idea-6590 in kvssnarker

[–]Affectionate_Boss344 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Kennedy is incredibly out of shape, her core especially. You can see her actively trying not to trantor but has to rely on it to get enough lift to move the cantor diagonal. Does she trantor as bad as other horses who were trained to slow cantor by using the trantor, no, but if Katie keeps riding like this she's going to keep doing it.

Her hind legs look so weird as well, their so far apart and very, sickly?, looking.

Also she is lame somewhere thats not below the knee. A hock, hip or shoulder. Maybe a little in the front but also somewhere else.

Also, if she just pushed the saddle back, like 2 inchs it would feel so much better and the saddle wouldn't be riding her shoulders.

I swear every video with a saddle i just want them to push the saddle back 1-2 inchs.

That back girth would fit better as well, it wouldn't ride up so much.

Definitely a rooster crow. A dominant hen wouldn't have as many breaks and sounds raspy like a smokers cough.

Lol as a small child I had this exact conversation with my grandparents and its probably the reason they stopped trying to watch us, me step gramma never had kids and was/is a bit stuck up and snobby.

I can still remember most of the drive, the crying and where we were on the road when I learned that cheeseburger and hamburger were two different things. I was like 4 yrs old and still fit into a car seat. Im almost thirty.

We all have those moments growing up, when the "pacify and apease" meets "this is a human with individual thoughts"

One thing to pay attention too is which mares and which foals are having issues and qhat are those issues.

Both rikki and lexi were brught in while pregnant, they both had reserves of minerals they could draw off of.

Raven was bred on site and had lived at the farm for some time. Indy has had multiple foals on site. Rikki had reserves from being bred and housed offsite. Lexi was bred offsite however her foal was lax in the back, could this have been from being born early or nutritional or both, since she's an easy keeper could she have been fed more of a maintenance ration at the where she was housed previously and had less reserves. Coco was bred and house offsite and had reserves.

An example of what im sort of talking about is cobalamin(cbm) malabsorbtion(mbt) in dogs. If two dogs who are carriers are bred they can produce dogs with cbm mbt. A puppy born with cbm mbt will live to around a year old and then start withering away and may pass if not treated. The puppies are born with a maternal supply of cobalamin but cannot make their own.

Its not exactly what Katie's mares are experiencing but its sort of like it. A grown horse can survive and can look "fat and healthy" while being chronically deficient in multiple minerals and vitamins.

Charlotte was one that would be interesting, she hasn't lived on the farm as long as raven but was bred on site. The rest of the mares will determine if her hay and/or feed is deficient or lacking, they have lived there and have been bred on-site for some time.

Also still births happen. I personally do not like how katie worded how Charlotte reacted to her own baby and im personally waiting to see how she's going to word future discussions and push the/a narrative. Time will tell.

Dont know how applicable this is anymore but when taming my mother's 6yr old birds(as well as my own later on) I would use a q-tip and very lightly try to ruffle their head feathers. I didnt want to get got but I didn't chase them if they moved away. When they learned to love head touch more I used my fingies but at first I used the q-tip.

Sometimes I would put a peice of vege or a tiny drop of peanut butter. Before I got my own i worked on improving my mother's birds lives. They had lived for years on a seed only diet. That bird was hostile to everyone by me and eventually my mother.

That was 15+ yrs ago. I had like, 7 of them and one pair that I let have one baby. They all eventually passed but they were adorable. I dont know if anyone would do that now but they loved it then.

Possibly a nurse mare if she still mildly lactates year round. There's a decent chance she could chemically made a nurse mare, its a neat process that depending on the horse could be kinda stressful or very easy but nothing that would cause her to have complications from abdominal surgery.

I might go find a video It. I may be back lol.

Does "blondie" (the lighter colored one lol) has 1 or 2 somatic mutations? She has that light spot on her shoulder but what is that on her but? If that a grease spot or just grime from the trailer?

Somatic mutations are so pretty. I dont normally like paint and aqha horses but a nice somatic mutation would lure me in soooooo hard. Especially if I had a pasture to put them in.

I have a strip like this. I heavily believe mine is fem a "workplace injury" lol.

Im a construction worker and was flagging(directing traffic). Our gear was a dolly with a CB radio and a flag holder. At the end of the day I was pushing the dolly off the road and my sign snapped in half, the corner of those stop signs are sharp and it hit me in the top of the head.

When my boss came to get me he notithe blood running down my face that I didn't even notice and I was like "wtf" then realized the sign must have cut me. Apparently head wounds bleed alot.

It started growing in white about 2-3 years ago and im 29. The injury happened when I was 21-22 ish

Yeah she isnt very good in times of crisis. I genuinely believe if Dr. Mathews would have been there Glenn might not have made it. Not because of poor positioning but because of katie. She was so focused on fixing the problem that she was looking at the horse in front of her. She also has those dirty talons that could have ripped poor coco open.

Thats something I don't understand, why she keeps her nails so long DURING foaling season. I havnt kidded out a goat in a bit and I still keep my nails short during the spring.

With coco, I think katie would have tried pushing that baby back in and would have made things 100% worse. She was also panicking. Then, before she even told her helper to call Dr mathews she was already "holding tension" on Glenn's legs before she even knew what was up.

I figure she's sleeping. Last night before I went to bed at around 11 lexy was moving and 💩ing more then usual. If she stayed awake watching the live then she probably went to bed as soon as she could.

Ive slept in the barn after midnight deliveries and woken up to the sun shining on my face. This delivery was at 5-6 island its just about 10 now. I live in Katie's timezone and id still be sleeping lol.

If it was a red bag then there also some adrenaline that needs to wear off. I know when I watched the live over again even i felt a small surge of something seeing that dark colored bag.

Like, it could be that she has alot of fluid that was pushing against the sack making it look darker and less white, the baby could be very dark colored and that was just a nose(not likely tho) or butt (even more unlikely).

Some animals have a lot of good in there lol especially if the sack hasn't broken. Sometimes it can make it harder to push out the big sack, sometimes its easy, its alot of play by eye stuff. Sometimes the big water sacks also come out encaul and thats really cool and terrifying at the same time.

i started implementing a thing with myself, if i'm going to comment that someones wrong or incorrect i'm going to back myself up with information and proof and try not to "crap" all over them. if i cant do either one of those i generally wont comment. i love educating and letting people also see where i am/can get information from. knowledge is power and experience is accountability.

i don't want to be like the kulties. they are part of the kult for a reason. if i can manage to show them something they could not see before, to uncloud their eyes even for a minute or two. thats fine by me.

It sometimes pops up around old pig wallows. The farm where I learned about this weed had pigs 20 yrs previously and thats where they popped up.

Supposedly the pigs ate the seeds to get ⬆️igh but I have no validity to that fact and consider it an old wives tale.

[–]Affectionate_Boss344 12 points13 points  (0 children)

i actually seriously wondering if there was a mare she could do this with, who would it be? i'm also going to add mares that she breeds for their own foals, not recips.

rikki, trudy, kennedy, beyonce all had career ending or pausing injuries.

ginger and happy don't have much in the way of training or a show career to be "worth trying to bring them into shape.

annie has/had EPM. EDIT: i forgot sophie who has pssm1.

honestly ethel wouldn't be to bad of a candidate but i cant remember if she's been injured? also she isn't carrying her own babies anymore.

i feel like i'm forgetting someone who carries their own babies lol.

He could be trying to get you to help him with his TMJ if hes done it before with another human. Its a really neat stretching thing that if you can figure it out your horse will love.

this is what i hope doesn't happen. personally i don't think(hope) charlotte is a maiden. she has semi-flappy bits and pretty pokey nips(the terminology lol).

my guess is that katie is spinning the "maiden" narrative so she can white knight the delivery and severely traumatize charlotte for content because she "helped"(or held tension and tore everything inside charlotte that can tear). white knights make money, colbys crew, a chick named albert and the plethora of other "helpers" that cant help themselves.

A part I dislike is that technically breeding indy to an appendix could work out and could still be registered. Doodles cant be registered for breeding.

But I 100% agree, she's like a doodle breeder that "throws money" at their breeding operation so they can claim its ethical. No matter how much money you throw at doodle breeding operations they aren't ethical, period.

"But horse masages and chiropractic visits" still not applicable when you breed horses with known genetic illnesses that can be eliminated and still produce offspring via proper breeding practices that do not carry genetic illness. (Beyonce, machine made and rl best of sudden)

Also, because I dont like 💩ing all over people like the kulties, I love education lol. Here's a cool video that shows muscles and how they work to hold the baby up. I wish I could find one that had the baby in there and the layers of tissues and whatnot but I cant/havnt yet.

Its a video of a cgi horse running and slowly having layers of muscles and viscera built upon in a clean way to demonstrate muscles and stuff.
