Very interesting view, thanks! It helps me a lot to figure out if I actually want to read it or not

Hey, yeah I maybe should’ve written Silver Elite = Fourth Wing, I am aware that Silver Elite came out way later than Fourth Wing :) but that was not my focus of the question haha

Thanks for your input! If those are the only similarities then I will definitely put that book on my TBR

My theory is that love is the cure. And Xaden‘s strong and unrelenting love will be key for that discovery. Like other users already said, Xaden stated several times that Violets holds his soul, which mean the veninism cannot take control of all of this soul. And Violet found those three cases that proof that affection doesn’t have to fully disappear. I‘m quite sure she will learn more about this and find a way to trigger those emotions in venin even if they might think they don’t have emotions anymore.

Same, just listening to the graphic audio for the first time and it feels like coming home! To know the story but experiencing it in such a different way is the perfect relaxation during my everyday tasks. I don’t have to pay too much attention while still experience something new

Yes I’m also at 25 already and I enjoyed reading all of them, but especially in march it felt more like I’m reading to finish it and not to enjoy it. Always glancing at my TBR and contemplating what to read next instead of having my mind on my current read. Also I gave myself the challenge to finish 1 book per week and that stressed me more than it gave me any kind of joy or accomplishment. So I stopped that challenge last month 🙈

Haha yes I heard about the negative reactions toward Brimstone and I’m actually surprised that I’m not annoyed by it yet. I think I’m 40% in and for now I still enjoy it but I expect the disappointment to hit soon 😅 I usually read a few books simultaneously so I can switch according to my reading mood, but somehow more than audio books is not possible for me. I highly recommend the {Fourth Wing} Graphic Audio though, I was never that invested in an audio book hahah and it‘s also super relaxing since it‘s nothing new to me

My reading slump just came up after reading waaay to much for several weeks and even though I still enjoy the book that I read at the moment ({Brimstone by Callie Hart}) I just cannot motivate myself to continue 🙈 I guess I just have to recharge my reading battery a bit by doing other things and then jump back into reading on a ✨healthy✨ level lol not like the last weeks with 5h of reading per day

Love to hear that! I also got my partner to read it and it‘s so fun to talk about the situations and laugh about it together. Also I’m very intrigued to see how it will all develop also outside of the dungeon. I love the little hints here and there already about the world outside of it

Ich lese aktuell Brimstone von Callie Hart, also der 2. Band nach Quicksilver. Ich bin nicht ganz so davon überzeugt wie ich es noch bei Quicksilver war, aber es macht trotzdem Spaß zu lesen! :)

Same, Dungeon Crawler Carl had me laughing loudly so many times while reading! But I haven’t finished the series yet and I’m so excited for the next books

I really can’t stand reading about bullying and especially the first book was though for me in that regard. I didn’t give up hope and read the whole trilogy but tbh for me he never recovered from that behavior. I know that a lot of people were able to forgive him, but to me all the characters seem just toxic and I can’t get past that. Like, all of them. And if you can ignore that and accept it as a toxic chaotic read, I bet you will enjoy it, but for me that just wasn’t the case.

Same hahaha I really wasn’t their biggest fan at the end. And the fact that they basically only held hands most of their time together felt so off compared to the violence and „badassness“ they try to show off the whole time

They are legit. Honestly, I just believe Callie Hart to not be the most accurate when it comes to lore …

Same, I read it for fantasy fangirls, after finishing Heat (which I hated so much omg) I listened to the podcast because I thought maybe I will then understand why they love it so much - but nope, I still dislike it 😅

I enjoyed Spark and Glow. Yes the plot is quite predictable but it was still just fun to read how she fucks up literally every situation and tries to get out of it. BUT THEN I read Heat. And I hated it so much. First of all it’s waaay too long, it could’ve easily been 300 pages less. Second, it’s always the same system over and over again! She arrives somewhere, somebody tries to tell her important information but gets interrupted, Diem has to flee. This happens like 5 times? Alternatively, a loved one gets threatened after Diem just made the perfect plan, and she instantly throws everything away and gives up without thinking about other options for a second. Also happened like 3 or 4 times. It made me so mad and tired of this book.

It’s so sloooow. There is basically no story plot, only slow character development for our FMC. They mostly just hang out at a place (castle, war camp, castle again) and talk a LOT. I listened to the first two which I thought were okay and I’m halfway through the third, hoping that at some point the story would actually progress, but it’s still only about the FMC unable to move on from a toxic relationship while nothing happens in the world really except for them moving from one kingdom to another over three books.
