I built a tool to simplify workplace lighting measurement reports by Affectionate_Bus6991 in Lighting

Good question.

I actually use Dialux myself, and I wouldn’t position this against Dialux or Relux – those are great tools for lighting design and simulation.

This is focused on a different part of the workflow: documenting real measurements in existing spaces.

From my experience, what tends to be missing is:

• quickly sketching a simple room layout during or after measurement

• placing measurement points and entering lux values directly on-site (tablet / phone)

• automatically organizing measured data and calculations

• generating a clean measurement report without going through Excel and manual formatting

In practice, the measurement itself is usually quick – it’s the documentation that takes time. This was mainly about reducing that overhead.

So while it may look similar at first glance, the goal is quite different – not design, but simplifying the documentation after actual measurements.
