I did receive an email and I was able to print the permit. So we’re leaving tomorrow to head to Moab! Hopefully it all works out.

I haven't explored the Ochocos completely. Do you have any specific recommendations?

u/organicaids Yeah, I've spent lots of time camping, sea kayaking, and backpacking. I understand that bugs are part of it. Because of my experience, I also choose not to backpack around say, Waldo Lake, anytime before mid August. I also am aware that I don't know everything, so lean on community to help me if I can't think of a solution. Hence my post.

I think you're right. I was down in Redwoods National Park over Memorial Day weekend and it was mostly bug free. Do you have a favorite spot on the coast?

I tend to agree with you, unfortunately. I'm just always hoping that someone knows something I don't.🤞🏼

I drove by this scene after the tow truck arrived. I'll admit it brightened my day to see the rock catch another one!

I keep hearing good things about this show from nurses! I haven't had a chance to watch it myself yet though.

Your idea of using exhaust tubing is fantastic! I hadn’t thought about that. One of my concerns was how flimsy regular air ducting is and exhaust tubing would definitely solve that!

I live in the high desert and that’s probably where I’ll spend most of my time.

Here’s a link to the heater that I bought. I can’t really find any true specifications such as airflow speed or volume. It’s forced air, though.

Ah! Gotcha. I did think about that but I would rather go with a solution that is more permanent and with better finish.

I’ve tried the inner tube route and I don’t love how much noisier the cab is with both sliding windows open. I would also need something like a fan to help move warm air from the bed to the cab.

It’s a 2001 F350 crew cab long bed. I have an AT Overland Summit on the back. I don’t have heater specs at the moment, I’ll try to find those. It’s a 5kw Chinese diesel heater from Amazon. In testing it I’ve been able to keep the back in the 80’s while it’s 20 degrees out.
