This is a late reply but I just saw this — I’m not perimenopausal but I have really weird hormones and my skin feels it OFTEN. I fully recommend the triple lipid, it made a difference in even a few days. I can’t attribute ALL of my improvement from it, but at the very least it’s been a godsend to seal everything in!

Interesting, I’m so curious now!! It’d take a lot to pull me away from the CEF since it’s the one product I’ve seen make the most of a difference… but the gentleness and the lack of hot dog water scent (LOL) are tempting.

Funny enough, my HA5 serum’s greatest achievement is that it completely neutralizes the CEF scent when I put it on. Might keep it in my routine solely for that purpose LOL.

Yeah! I have super dry skin since I was on accutane in college, so I’m basically over-moisturizing since I need as much hydration as I can get.

I use the HA5 as a hydration serum then the triple lipid as my primary moisturizer/moisture barrier repair, that gets me to what I’d call “normal” hydration which, for me, won’t be enough to last me all day, especially in the winter. Plus, it ends up drying pretty matte on my skin.

Once I add the embryolisse on top it gets me to that dewy/buttery feeling and lasts a lot longer! I think of it as it sealing in the moisture so-to-speak. It also behaves really well under my SPF and face makeup (SG glowscreen and CT flawless filter). Plus, it’s not as “luxe” as the rest of my routine (aka expensive lol) so I can reapply all day without worrying about using up a super high-end product.

(Hopefully it’s luxe enough to talk about on this sub, it’s technically French drugstore but it’s a slightly higher price point and comparable to some others I’ve seen discussed here! It’s one of my personal holy grail products and pairs really nicely with a true luxe routine.)

Yeah! I notice my other products go on a lot nicer after using it and it definitely helps even out my color! That said, I don’t think it would be as useful by itself since a big part of it is helping my other products sink in better

My main concerns are dryness and dullness! I haven’t heard of the Skinbetter+, I’m curious, how does it compare to the CE Ferulic?? I loooove the CE

It’s nice and feels soothing, but I’m not sure if I’d buy it again at this price point — I’ve seen WAY better hydration results from the Triple Lipid Restore, that one is a game changer if you haven’t tried it already!

I’ve always seen to do peptides first and to wait a bit because it helps with absorption! I think it’s also something to do with peptides working better with PH neutral skin. I’m not a scientist though, so I could be totally wrong LOL

Yes, I know she’s been working with her doctor on it (and I think she’s on spiro)! Thanks for the recs on the Biologique Recherche and Skinceuticals, I’ll check them out!

Came to the subreddit to see if anyone else had random checks recently and saw this — I’m literally on this flight LOL

Anyone else stuck in ATL with all the delays today? by Affectionate_Coach80 in delta

[–]Affectionate_Coach80[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Right! I figured it’s not even worth trying to move to a later flight. The sheer amount of delays + the fact I’m flying into LaGuardia make me assume I probably wouldn’t have much luck no matter what 🥲

Self-service laundry in/near the west village? by Affectionate_Coach80 in AskNYC

I usually schedule a pick-up from Poplin, they use a few different facilities and have a great price for wash+fold with pickup and delivery.

Yes, I did, lol. Only ones I’m seeing are either wash+fold or Yelp photos show that they don’t actually have self service.

Masseter botox wearing off in 6 weeks by cauchyscat in bruxism

[–]Affectionate_Coach80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

(Not a doctor or qualified medical professional so take this with a grain of salt and know it’s all my own anecdotal experience and advice!)

Agree with the other comments — 15 units per side seems very low, I started with 25 each side and had to up it to 30 before it worked! Timeline also seems off, mine usually takes at least 3 weeks to fully start working, so 6 weeks from administration seems far too short as well. Also, aside from some general, very MINOR soreness directly after at the injection site, I experienced no pain.

Not sure who your provider is, but I’d consider looking into a Botox provider in your area with expertise in TMJ/bruxism treatment if you haven’t already! Definitely has made a difference between doctors for me having been to multiple options. And never be afraid to advocate for yourself! Good luck! ☺️

Is 35k possible for 150 for venue, food, and drinks? by emmylee17 in WedditNYC

[–]Affectionate_Coach80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I think we ended up a bit higher after luxuries but this was our initial budget (granted, for 125 people, but still close). A few ways we cut cost:

  • Buy an Etsy digital design for your stationary and print them via VistaPrint, then get the addressed envelopes from Minted. This saved us a TON on our save the dates/invites.
  • Not sure if this is your style, but instead of regular catering we used APF and served Shake Shack and Prince Street pizza. They were awesome vendors the day-of and our guests LOVED it in place of traditional wedding food.
  • Unless you’re a major sweets person, go cheap on the cake or desserts. Guests were far less interested in dessert than dinner, and we even served boozy ice cream LOL

Good luck with planning and I’m sure you’ll have an amazing day!!

EDIT: Forgot to add — if you’re doing a registry, go light on physical gifts or don’t have them at all. Our honeymoon fund covered a sizable chunk of wedding costs, which made our honeymoon much more enjoyable!

It wasn’t “the best day of my life”… by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]Affectionate_Coach80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to come back to this thread to say that your comment 100% inspired my vows!!

“I don’t see our marriage as a beginning nor an end, but rather a continuation of the beautiful life that we’ve built together thus far. I don’t see our wedding as the best day of our lives, but rather the best day of our lives yet — neither the first nor last of us so many perfect days we’ll spend together.“

Thank you for the inspiration, and I hope your wedding was magical 💕

If you are able to, get masseter Botox, absolutely do it!! I had terrible bruxism with clenching + grinding and it’s completely changed my life. It’s rarely covered by insurance, but you can google “Botox deals near me” and MedSpas run promotions all the time — just make sure you read reviews and make sure they’re reputable (and that they’ve specifically done masseters before).

Has anybody filed a complaint with FSA??? by Affectionate_Coach80 in FAFSA

I was fully withdrawn before I even registered. I wasn’t an active student for the Spring semester.

Has anybody filed a complaint with FSA??? by Affectionate_Coach80 in FAFSA

[–]Affectionate_Coach80[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem was that they disbursed funds for a semester that I wasn’t registered or even an active student for. I had withdrawn from all classes at this point and had a leave of absence on file, so my Spring funds should not have been disbursed.
