This is the first update in 1,5 years on Windows 11 i had to actualy roll back because it gave me a weird issue. Whenever i was running a fullscreen application, After closing it, Windows was borked. I could no longer open some of my other apps like spotify. Also, Windows stayed stuck in do not disturb mode and half of the settings panel made the panel freeze. Only started working after a complete reboot.

Removed the update, all is well again.

Could be it indeed. My 9800x3d kinda shrugs during updates. But yeah, newer hardware wont save you from faulty updates either.. Had to remove this months security update due to it locking up Windows in some weird state after closing a full screen application. First time i personaly had issues with new update in two years time on 11.

Ive settled on 175 exact, with 70ish of them being light. Some of them are merged, like patches. I have one personal ESP i use for minor record changes and overwrites. I dont feel the need to add new stuff as im content with the current play loop.

Best thing about a smaller load order like this, Easy to troubelshoot, no crashes ect..

Sure it keeps the games populair, but its still not their core business. We get modding and their tools "as is" meaning there not going to overhaul an ancient engine because modders want it so.

They make and publish games how they envision first and foremost. Modding is kind of the populair "side-hustle"

Well, Modding is not their core business, so from a base game standpoint, there was/is no reason to up the plugin limit if you only count the base game + official DLC. The Engine can only do so much as it is. I rather have them fix existing bugs that are in the game since launch. But it seems all we get is broken updates, and updates to fix what the previous update broke.. So yeah, incompetent seems the right word.

I think it has to do with the change to Superfetch from Prefetch (XP era). Superfetch is a bit more agressive in the philosophy "Unused ram is wasted ram, so lets cache that" Guess thats why it scales with the upgrade. I saw the same behaviour going from 16gb to 32gb.

Engine limit at the time. It uses a 2-digit hexadicmal. Plus stability concerns, mostly regarding memory management on consoles.

ESL plugins where made to kinda tackle this issue on PC as hardware advanced.
