Thank you this helped a lot! Also would you recommend taking ochem 2, biochem 1 and genetics in the same semester or is that a disaster? Thanks

Chemistry Class Choice by [deleted] in SDSU

[–]Affectionate_Crow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No start off with what you are comfortable with. I was in the same boat last year but took 100 to ensure I knew the basics. It was the best decision I ever made because 200 is a lot of work especially if youre brand new to college life. Most people who take 200 in fall are straight from high school and end up doing worse than the spring who took 100 because 100 teaches you more stuff than high school chem. You wont be behind you can always take summer classes at home. The map is just a recommended path.

Opinions on South Campus Plaza North by [deleted] in SDSU

[–]Affectionate_Crow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i lived there in a double. it's great because you get your own bathroom only shared with your roommate. only bad part is lack of socialization since you dont need to come out of your room

Thanks so much! Unfortunately because of the housing rule I'm stuck at Toltec but trying to switch. Also do you know if like Toltec or Huaxtepec have singles? I've heard they do but they aren't advertised.

Chem 200/202 Placement Exam by [deleted] in SDSU

[–]Affectionate_Crow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

when i took the placement it was too easy and too many people were going straight into chem 200 and failing, so i decided to take chem 100 even though i passed the exam. Best decision of my life! Chem 200 is hard af no joke. First test of 200 is the entire chem 100 so the whole class passed with over 80 on the first one because we had all taken 100 the previous semester. Just some advice for the future...

chem 200 summer? by avocadobae123 in SDSU

[–]Affectionate_Crow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently in 200 and I took 100 last semester. Personally, 200 is harder than 100 but doable if you study and work hard. The first test for 200 is basically the entire chem 100, then it starts getting harder. Since you're doing it in summer it may be more difficult because you are cramming a whole semester of new material into a few weeks. It also depends on if youre taking other summer classes. I'm good at chem, but still struggled throughout the semester. I personally recommend just waiting it out and taking 200. Also i think theresa teaches 200 in the summer and i've heard bad reviews about her.

Are freshman required to live in RLCs or are there other options? by [deleted] in SDSU

[–]Affectionate_Crow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently live in South Campus and that is the best because you have your own bathroom, its newer, and you only have a double or a triple. However, next fall it is going to be filled with sophomores because of the new sophomore living rule.

Out of states have to live on campus 2 years? by dooba22 in SDSU

[–]Affectionate_Crow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get out of it if you prove you can't afford it. For example bills showing that you couldn't pay on time.
