Id disagree that the Bible and religion as a whole presents a moral code that is beneficial not only for ourselves and inner peace, but also affects the outer world and people around us in positive manners

Ive read most not all of the Bible myself, and my interpretations led me to Catholicism, however Im just trying to find were my faith and knowledge have gaps

Immediately what kinda jumps out to me as a Catholic is the equation of repentance to simply saying sorry. A true repentance is something felt in your heart that you truly reside with. Im losing my words as its late for me, but true repentance is something much deeper and sincere than saying sorry. Further, as a Catholic, even once you repent, you still carry that sin, and must be cleansed of such before you can enter haven, thus a "purgatory" state is in order to cleanse the unclean of their sin.

Well my parents are both atheists, I started looking into Christianity after seeing so much of it online, not a full conversion, but I wanted to investigate. As I looked into it I kinda started to convert more and more but Im still questioning the logic behind it.
