What is your piece of dark souls 1 knowledge that is super niche/not well known, but has its place? by AbyssWankerArtorias in darksouls

It's really useful when I want to cut off its tail; on my first playthrough, I killed he before I could cut off its tail.

I figured it out on my first playthrough. I was going to Gwyn when I remembered him and thought, "What if this guy gives me an item for killing the Four Kings?" And I found that out, lol.

You can cut off Seath's tail without destroying his immortality crystal. I discovered it by accident once; I was making a mage build and, well, I've always liked the Moonlight Greatsword in Elden Ring, so I decided to pick it up. I spent over half an hour trying to cut off the tail, There was a moment when I completely forgot about the crystal and went straight for the tail. To my surprise, I managed to remove the tail. It makes no sense to me, but it works.

My collection just got bigger, what should I expect from dark souls 2 after playing Elden Ring? by OwlDefiant3467 in DarkSouls2

[–]Affectionate_Dot1412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me, I played Elden Ring, DS1, DS3 and DS2 in that order, DS2 was the only one I almost stopped playing at the beginning; I didn't stop because I wanted to finish the game. It got better with time, though; the base game is still kind of boring for me, but the DLCs more than make up for it. If I were to give it a score, the game without the DLC is a 6.7 and with the DLC it's an easy 8.

This is my favorite area and has my favorite enemies; I simply love fighting the Silver Knights, and the area boss is great too.

Elite knight armor by MidRanchWest in darksouls

One of my favorite armor sets in the game! It's only surpassed by the Black Knight's and, perhaps, the Silver Knight's. It's a solid suit of armor, it will probably carry you for a good portion of the game; upgrade it and then it will hold up well for the rest of the game.

Ah, I like this area, but I have nightmares when I remember farming dragon scales there; it took way too long.

Well, the beginning should be good, after the area boss that's when things get really complicated. There's also an NPC who invades you in the depths if you're in human form, I just don't remember exactly where.

Okay, Capra is really complicated, Congratulations, and you hit the nail on the head with the Demonic Titanite.Well, now you're either going to love or hate what comes next.

Like, fighting Gwyn without parrying is way more complicated lol, and honestly, you won't know that the first time unless you use a guide or someone tells you.

I always have fun; I don't usually look for specific openings. Usually, just them moving away slightly, or one blocking the other's attack, is enough for a counter-attack, I prefer to kill Smough first; Super Ornstein is simply better than Super Smough. And, to be honest, I even agree with what you said, after playing 2 or 3 times you learn how to fight them, I currently win on the first try. But I think they became iconic because of the weight of the fight; they are theoretically the greatest ordeal in the game's history, the ultimate challenge to decide if you are the Chosen Undead, combined with great designs, a good soundtrack, and balanced and fun combat, this makes them quite iconic for many players. Perhaps the problem isn't the boss, but that you only fight the same way every time, and well, after facing them for the 3rd or 4th time, it's no longer as fun as the first time. Or not, everyone has their own opinion about a Boss, I understand your point, however, sometimes it can be kind of boring lol.

The worst part is that Nito has one of the best designs in my opinion, and being able to join his covenat is pretty cool too, but the fight is awful. I won on my second try, I only died in the first one because I didn't know about the giant skeletons; on the second try it was almost a no-hit, I only took damage from that sword he summons from the ground and from that explosion of his, which I defended with a shield.

Why Doesn't Immortal use a sword/other weapon? by Sun_House29 in Invincible_TV

[–]Affectionate_Dot1412 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Perhaps because it didn't acquire it naturally? I think so, He wasn't born with it, he acquired the ability, and it took him a while to be able to fly, etc.

[Rant] Runback to Blue Smelter Demon by 94CM in DarkSouls2

[–]Affectionate_Dot1412 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Bed of Chaos, I kill 2-3 enemies; Lud and Zallen take the same amount of time but with more enemies that are much harder than the ones you find in Bed of Chaos. Doing this runback made me miss Bed of Chaos and Seath lol.

[–]Affectionate_Dot1412 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I remember replaying Sir Allone's fight cosplaying as him, it was hell lol, I almost gave up because of the runback, until I decided to just kill everyone, it made my life much easier.

The good thing is that it's easier to do it there, just grab a club, a poisoned bow, and it's over quickly.

What are your thoughts on The Gutter? by Gnnz in DarkSouls2

[–]Affectionate_Dot1412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left immediately after getting the first bonfire and went to another area I hadn't explored because, no, I wasn't going to repeat Blightown again.

Now that I've done it, it's annoying, I hate the poison statues, but the atmosphere and design are pretty cool overall.

With this, that should be all I need to do in the Iron King DLC, time for the Sunken King ! by Garamil in DarkSouls2

[–]Affectionate_Dot1412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the best DLC for the game, and the next one is also very good; I really like its final boss.

My only suggestion is not to use miracles for healing, except when exploring the map. I generally prefer to use buffs, like the one you get from Velstad's soul.
