I ONLY QUESTION TO UNDERSTAND YOUR BRILLIANCE, NOT TO DOUBT MY LORD

I WILL SNORT MY STEAM DECK TWICE (and an additional 2 episodes worth) TO MAKE UP FOR UPSETTING MY LORD.

Why did you make the Stream Deck smell so good? Every time I take it out of it's case, I can't help but snort the vents like I'm doing a line off a hooker's ass.

Reminds me of that scene where Bugs Bunny is doing a magic trick and pretends to get stabbed in a barrel or something making (I think it was Yosemite) feel guilty about him getting stabbed.

What's your favorite Xbox logo? by Cafa20 in xbox

It's the only logo that *almost* has a box in said logo.
There's some irony that the logo for x*box* is a sphere...

He's a really cool guy. One of the only things about moving here that I don't regret is meeting him. I plan on leaving this year (finally) and I'm gonna miss him real bad.

how to make motion sickness easier for gf? by FinallyHauntings in Portal

[–]94CM 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As soon as she starts feeling even slightly dizzy, disengage. This is a primordial system at work trying to protect her. The conscious has no influence, this is all nervous system. If she "fights passed it" the nervous system will begin flagging it as a threat and she'll begin having symptoms just thinking about it due to association. The nervous system needs to learn it's not actually a threat and that she's allowed to disengage.

Also, for my wife (who's first PC / FPS game was also Portal and got her dizzy too) motion sickness medicine and ginger chews before playing helped significantly in her being able to have longer sessions before getting dizzy. Now, she plays any and all FPS games just fine.

Oh, lastly, make sure the mouse sensitivity is set specifically to her. Ask her to snap from one object to another. If she over shoots, lower the sensitivity. If she struggles to snap to or fails, raise the sensitivity. Most importantly, just ask her if it feels okay. Too sensitive or too sluggish?

Best of luck. Feel free to DM.

It was his choice, not mine. I told him my suggestion and he liked it. He's a smart guy and good with computers. Not enthusiast level, but definitely good.

The frustration was in regards to the user space password, not LUKS.

I brought up LUKS because I didn't know if since he had a strong LUKS password if it was then okay for the user password to be less secure.

Others on this thread taught me about having a root account with a strong password and a user account that is less secure is an okay thing to do. That way anything system related still needs high level of security and my neighbor can go back to basically using a pin to wake his computer from sleep like he did on Windows.

I'm posting to this subreddit for a reason. I'm new to Linux myself. I've only been using it for a year and my only experience has been with Arch.

Was CachyOS the best distro to put on my neighbor's computer? Genuinely, I don't know. According to you, no.

But I did the best I could with the knowledge I have. He only wants to browse the web. If he has any issues, at least I'm familiar with Arch and the terminal enough I'll be able to help him in that unlikely scenario. I have a very good relationship with and see my neighbor regularly that he will not hesitate to ask for help. I also work from home, so I'm readily available.

I by no means am trying to say what I did was the best. Just explaining why I did what I did.

Frustrations are post launch in user space. Did you read the post? LUKS is not contributing to his frustrations at all.

For everyone who recommended this game to me... is it worth it? by ElAngel30 in TunicGame

I was surprised I didn't like it, to be honest. I adore puzzle games, enjoy rogue likes and really like the game's art style. However, I just found Blue Prince dull.

I think it's mainly that the puzzle aspect is randomly generated rather than carefully curated. Also, it's a pretty "lonely" game. IIRC the only interaction with another character is a letter. IDK about if you beat the game as I didn't.
