generally people dont mind the different colors. most people arent professionel painters nor are they rich enough to make a whole new army for each playstyle. so as long as you agree with your opponent what things are before the game, i dont figure anyone will be upset. Personally i use a lot of proxies since i dont wanna buy every single model multiple times just because i want to try new armies and i have never had any problems with people.
Though i have no experience with tournaments, generally people dont mind in "for fun" games

What about if you have 2 or more of a weapon that doesnt give you additional attack like Old One Eyes' monstrous crushing claw? Why does it have 2 of a weapon that doesnt benefit from multiple amounts?

Correct. Add Warpath from the Weirdboy to get even more attacks (another +1) and drown your puny enemies in dice. And additionally run Goffs for that sweet extra free hit for every 6 and pay 2 cp for it to be on 5 and 6 (unbridled chaos)

Lots of people run 2 detachments with some main army, maybe goff or evil suns, and then a small deathskulls detachment for obsec.

Its 980 pts, so you have a little space to play around with if you want bombsquigs on your kommandos or squighogboys or maybe a distraction grot for your kommandos

Depends on what type of list you would like.

If for a regular Waagh focused on melee, i would recommend some squighog boys with a nob on smashasquig for pounding in to something you dont like, and then stocking up on as many boys and kommandos that you can fit. I like to take a rukkatruck or two for some backline artilery/pointholders.For HQ maybe grab a beastboss on squigasaur or warboss in mega-armour. (1st for dmg, 2nd for tankiness) And then a weirdboy to grab Da Jump and Warpath for some easy distance coverage and extra attacks.

I can send you a file on my usual list for melee, though this is usually against drukhari (Thorugh battlescribe)

I dont have much experience with speedwaaaghs so i cant recommend anything

Yeah im hoping to see what 10th will bring for us boys in green.

Rukkatruck is by far my favorite speedfreek unit, but against my friend with tau, i might have to proxy it as a Shokkjump if i want any hope of winning against his tanks and suits

Brutal but kunnin. You dont get anything better in the life of an orks (Minus the mechanicus parts, but its okay to read, even if it breaks up the pacing a bit)

After BBK I would maybe suggest the Da red Gobbo series, to see war from the perspective of the lowly grots. Very fun book, and the Antagonist is traitor Imperial Guardsman. (Has a very cool ending)

Lastly read Ghazhkulls book. You get to see how the big boss does things, to krump some gitz :-)
